Another success story - apart from the fact that the 3.5% was already earmarked - what about the increase in cost of living now running at almost 5% - please someone remind me what was the increase in subs this year - was it more or less than 3.5%. Still when you're fighting a losing battle we should be thankful for small mercies - and I do mean small.fishtank wrote:TO: ALL BRANCHES WITH POSTAL MEMBERS
Dear Colleague
Royal Mail Letters Pay 2012
In recent weeks we have received a number of enquiries relating to 2012 pay. Following an exchange of correspondence Royal Mail has confirmed that they will be paying the 3.5% pay rise due on the 1st April 2012 and also that it is not their intention to seek to use any re-opener clause to reduce this and in return we have decided it is not our intention to seek to use any re-opener clause to increase this . The Postal Executive continues to discuss this issue in conjunction with other talks that are taking place with the company. Over the next couple of days further LTB’s will be issued to provide an update on a range of Business Transformation issues. Any enquiries on the above should be addressed to the DGS (P) Department.
Yours sincerely
Dave Ward Deputy General Secretary (P)
That,at least would be a bit more honest.
I sometimes think they think we are idiots.

I actually think that 3.5 % is pretty good compared to the climate
I wasn't expecting as much and i am still not convinced till its in my wages.
Mind you the misses always said i was easy to please

Re: This Years Pay Rise
As a stand alone rise I would agree, but taking into consideration the previous two years and the loss of earnings over the same period I'd hardly call it adequate let alone pretty good.krussel wrote:I actually think that 3.5 % is pretty good compared to the climate![]()

As it is a leap year, April Fool's day is April 2nd this year.Red Robbo wrote:Did I read April 1st , is that April Fools Day ?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
