Dingo :
Royal Mail for whatever reason do not seem to be up for that change. So what would you suggest we do , I dont sense that people are neccessary up for balloting
People are not up for balloting because they believe CWU HQ would come back with an even worse deal than they already have now, as thats been the pattern for the last 10+ years.

Billy & Co. need to realise that T&C's are more important than £££'s ( some £££ rewards that are never paid ! )

Now Glenno you say the Postal Executive are out of touch with the ordinary member , now this is a debate worth having. So tell me how many of those 400 delivery method revision offices have you been too. Most of the postal executive have been to a few witnessing first hand the issues. Equally on these visits they speak to members and reps and of course they speak to the area reps
Apart from the opening sentence , I find this statement patronising, If the PEC members had attended the 400 odd offices that have gone thru DM I could understand your point, but alas Idon't think so, I know my Area and I know my Division, we have had WSR, we have had DM revisions, we have gone to Disagreement many times, but to no avail, we are currently at Branch Level in Disagreement, Local level at Disagreement, and Supposedly Nationally at Disagreement, so where is the words ?? PEC members are voted on BI- annually? as just recently took place, but as you and I know these Members are endorsed by Branche's and most members respect their Branch's and vote accordingly. How many NEW names went forward? Possibly 1, and there lies the problem, not enough NEW blood coming up thru the ranks... a new approach is drastically needed :wave :wave

Glenno I did not mean it to be patronising as I suppose you don't mean to be partonising when you put your wave up against various threads.

Now if your Branch or unit is in disagreement then that's good. However the only national disagreement on revisons is the link to flow. Now you automatically when you go to an area disagreement have a strong hand as this then goes to the divisional and you then if you need can request an industrial action ballot.

Now I know collectively the PEC have gone to hundreds of offices , now I don't think they would have gone to the whole 400 delivery method revisons but they would have probably more of an idea of the problems then someone who has only been to their own office.

Now the reason why there is not many new faces out there standing for the PEC is it is a thankless task and many live out of a suitcase from Monday to Friday in any part of the UK and by their role have to go and deal with all the problems which the officers either don't have the time to deal with or are less serious. Years ago there would be a long list for PEC candidates but many divisional reps and area reps now do not see standing for the PEC has a great move forward. Especailly as divisional and area reps are often far more involved in Negotations then the PEC as of course the National Officers negotiate on all the big issues.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
