Wallyman wrote:Hello,
Just wondering how many of offices have got 1-4 Saturday's agreed.
Have been told that in the office I work in they can't do 1-4 Saturdays as the office is too big and if they were to do it,it would mean longer Saturday's.
So could people give me how there 1-4 Saturday's work, and ones with shorter Monday,Tuesdays and Saturdays would be good.

Thanks guys
We didn't get the 1 in 4 Saturdays off either but our working week is as follows:

06.12 - 13.30 Monday,Tuesday and Saturday
06.12 - 14.30 Wednesday,Thursday and Friday

My observations are we do have 1 in 4 Sats after P&L revisions.
PT get in 1in 2 Sats off. And FT get 1 in 6 Sats off.
And by BT 2010 reasoning that is 1 in 4 Sats off agreement adhered too :cuppa

If the majority of the office wanted 1in 4 saturdays off then why was the P&L revision signed off  ..... RM promised 1 in 4 saturdays off for all, up to them to deliver it, and members /union to ensure they did......

Hello wallyman

What management are telling you is absolute garbage it can be difficult for smaller offices to get 1 in 4 but its blimin easy in
big offices you need to find the menu of options document i think they may have a download copy on here. Management dont
want you to have 1 in4 because its more work for them. Oh and its a minimum of 1 in 4 sats off according to BT2010 :Very Happy

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

For that to happen in our office, was told by our cwu rep that only if there is more part timers. One wonders if that means less full timers for that.So looks like a no no from us then :whistle

All depends on what f/t p/t split you have now there are quite a few different options so tell your rep to look into it properly you will probably be quite surprised we have 2 in 6 sats off for the majority with a f/t increase :cuppa

Ours is a large office with a mix of attendance patterns. Floating days off, 5 weeks on 1 off, 9 day fortnights, just needs a bit of work so people can choose their preferred option. Shorter mon & tue, longer wed - fri, shorter sat. ie 7:12 mon & tue, 8:12 wed- fri, 7;42 sat. Can't do 1in 4 sat off is a load of bull. With a bit of thought it is possible.

Typical scaremongering.

1 in 4 Saturdays was the minimum promised under the new agreement.

Tell them to do one.

Lucky people who are getting 1 in 4 off. No matter how many times I tell my dim I want 1 in 4 off, as per the agreement, I get told "not going to happen".

Too late. It`s in and failing miserably. So, no 1 in 4 Saturdays off as per agreement and 07.30 start despite agreement saying no later start than 07.00.
