There are clips with holes in that are fixed to the straps of the bags( the same bags we use for on the shoulder) and are fixes to two hooks either side of the trolley. One bag for packets and one for the bundles of mail.POSTMAN wrote:Never seen a P&L trolley in action.Stormproof wrote:There arn't any zips Postman, the are just delivery pouches hooked on to a golf trolley. That is a demonstration picture of how the planners BELIEVE it should be..................the reality of course is entirely different.eastie wrote:where are the parcels??
The driver has 8 bags in the back and the walker puts his 8 bags in the side door.
That picture only shows 8 bags and 2 trolleys.
It should show it with 16 bags for the 2 loops and all the parcels squashed on top
No I'm just a bit OCD about keeping the van tidy, a place for everything and everything in its place if you know what I mean, less time f***ing about when I get backdvbuk55 wrote:That is a demonstration picture of how the planners BELIEVE it should be..................the reality of course is entirely different.eastie wrote:where are the parcels??

When you say a self convey p&l do you mean there's only you in the van? Which really defeats the object of the agreement - why would an urban delivery need a van for 1 person?Stormproof wrote:Thats a self convey P & L and all the parcels are behind the bags. We've a few self convey p&l duties. Still works the same but I guess being on the edge of town it did'nt pair up with another one locally. TBH i wish they were all self conveys especially with some of the people you get paired up with.dvbuk55 wrote:When you say a self convey p&l do you mean there's only you in the van? How was it formerly delivered? As it is it's a stand alone duty NOT P&L by any stretch of the imagination. If it was P&L there would be two doing the loops and then moving on as a pair to a new area.Stormproof wrote:We've a few self convey p&l duties. It used to be delivered by throwing the postman out of a moving minibus with his bag, then timed bags thereafterdvbuk55 wrote:How was it formerly delivered? So the van is really a mobile drop point and a total waste of resources as a P&L modernisation. There would be nothing wrong with carrying a second person doing the loops and moving on to another area - the planning certainly left a lot to be desired when a walking delivery became a van delivery. I would be very mindful of what was to come with that sort of planning.Stormproof wrote:It used to be delivered by throwing the postman out of a moving minibus with his bag, then timed bags thereafterdvbuk55 wrote:How was it formerly delivered? Which begs 2 things...eastie wrote:There are clips with holes in that are fixed to the straps of the bags( the same bags we use for on the shoulder) and are fixes to two hooks either side of the trolley. One bag for packets and one for the bundles of mail.POSTMAN wrote:Never seen a P&L trolley in action.Stormproof wrote:There arn't any zips Postman, the are just delivery pouches hooked on to a golf trolley. There is no security on the bags at all as someone could quite easily just put there hand in the pouch and walk off with something whilst in a block of flats or when you have to go up steps to a property.
Another problem I find is when it rains its unprotected, before when it was on the shoulder you had your arm over it protecting it from the elements.
