Exempt deductions
The employment legislation also defines a number of kinds of deductions that fall outside of the statutory restrictions on deductions. In other words, your employer may make any of the following deductions without authorisation under your employment contract or without your written permission in advance:
your employer has made an overpayment of wages or business expenses to you, for any reason, and wishes to recover the overpayment
your employer is entitled to deduct a sum of money from your wages under the provision of disciplinary proceedings that operate under a statutory provision, e.g. in the fire service or police force
your employer is required under a statutory provision to deduct monies due to a public authority, e.g. a Council Tax Attachment of Earnings Order
you have authorised your employer in writing to deduct amounts from your wages to be paid to a third party, where the third party instructs the employer how much to deduct
you have been involved in a strike or other industrial action and your employer decides not to pay you because of your involvement
you have authorised your employer in writing to deduct money from your wages that is due to your employer under an order of a court or tribunal.

Re: bonus and holiday
They've done the same to me, saying I owe them over £200... the day after they paid me 1p!
However, I am going to take exactly the same approach that Angard had to me and everybody else they shafted - I'm going to IGNORE their communications. And if they turn nasty, then I shall present them with an itemised bill for my bank charges, caused by going overdrawn when they did not pay my salary in, along with the cost of numerous telephone calls to them, plus my usual self-employed hourly rate in time devoted to pursuing this matter, petrol costs incurred in driving to work to pick my RM voucher up and general costsfor inconvenience etc. I calculate that the bill will come to exactly what they say I owe them, so we'll be quits.
I'll also CC this to the lovely CEOs of Reed and Royal Mail.
In short, they can all DO ONE!
Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Ohyeahohyeahohyeah!¬
Chas
PS: May I suggest that everyone presented with a similar charge by Angard bill THEM in the same manner.

No disrespect and i've said it before but if you ignore them they won't turn nasty they will just sell/pass the debt on to a debt recovery agency and they won't be interested in telephone costs or overdraft charges.AngDrone wrote: I'm going to IGNORE their communications. You have to keep the issue between you and Angard/Royal Mail...and that means arguing your case with them.

However, I relish a good tussle and I'm already in he process of making things very uncomfortable for them with my ET1, having my MP pursuing their practices etc. I have other weaons and tactics up my sleve too, so Angard: Bring It On!
