as time has gone on to be honest i had started to dread going in,really hated the office and manager, hoping to get sorted out Physically and Mentally and get off all these Anti depressants and Morphine and begin to enjoy my new life away from RM
Thanks again for listening :Very Happy
Hi Artic ....

Hang in their buddy ...
I too was IHR'd,last November.
After having put 26 yrs of my life into he job,am afraid since I have been out of Royal Mail i'm of the opinion" They can stick their job "!
It unfortunately took 18 months of depression and anxiety,to drum that into my head!
I remain on my anti-depressents,until my GP ells me otherwise.I see my counseller every 3 weeks now,who is also looking after me.
To be honest though, having heard how my ex-colleagues are being treated we are ALL best off OUT of Royal Mail! :evil/mad
I'm takin some time out ( not actively seeking work ),and getting myself back on an even keel ( both mentally and/or phsically ) before venturing back into the jobs market!
Having no mortgage and kids has helped me make up my mind financially, about takin some time out!
But as other people have said in here,it WILL get easier ... and surely to god being rid of the Royal Mail shithole, will aid that process. :thumbup

Always feel free to drop us a line,we will always reply ...

Hi all, can anyone tell me if the 34 weeks lump sum and 9 or 12 weeks pilon is what they always pay for IHR.
Only, i may be facing this myself but my manager and union rep seem to think the payment you get is based on your legnth of service.
I,ve been in the job for just under 6 years and i'm quite worried about losing my job, with all the bills to pay ect.
So obviously any lump sum i would get would need to keep me going 'till i find some work.
all the best to you all.

There are 2 types of IHR

One with immediate payment of Pension, the other one is a Lump sum and the Pension frozen until retirement age .

IHR with Lump Sum is not based on service except for the notice period which is 9 weeks or 12 weeks for 10 years service . It is rather worrying that the Rep and DOM believe it is based on service .

Does anyone know what is taken into account for the lump sum?

Just the wage and holidays?
Delivery supplement?
Coaching allowance?

Any info appreciated.

Cheers chaps.

So should they give me these allowances automatically or will I have to fight for them?

Also we get a monthly bonus, should that be included too?
