Whats the real trigger for the 2nd payment for WS Bonus?
Been told by MCM today that to trigger the 2nd payment and half hour off of duty that the target for sequenced mail to DO's (which is just under 79%)has to be hit over a full weeks average, and not one single day.
I was under the impression that you only had to beat your local target once, and the criteria had then been met?
Anyone from a mailcentre that has achived the 2 triggerpoint able to confirm what they had to do to get the payment/extra half hour?
Got a feeling they could have moved the goalposts........

Yes - at Exeter MC we had to achieve it for a week. Got there in December and got the 1/2 hour straight away, but had to wait 3 weeks for the £600. Got that as well now!!

From a letter at work:-
I am delighted to confirm that ** MC achieved the target for week 42, achieving 70.49% against a target of 69.4%. Please huddle this information with your people.
The achievement of this target triggers a second transformation payment of £600 for all our full time employees in Processing, and sees a further half hour off their working week.
The £600 will be paid in the next few weeks, and the “mechanics” of where we remove the hour from each duty will be discussed with the CWU, and the shift managers to get the best solution. (Remember the half an hour option was only an interim solution)
You can be justifiably proud that ** MC has once again demonstrated that it is one of the best plants in the country, as I believe it is the quickest large plant to achieve the two phases in terms of time form the start of our sequencing journey.

And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

Everything else aside- I find the use of the verb "to huddle" deeply offensive.Stampy wrote:From a letter at work:-

I personally don't find it offensive but I do think its indicative of the communication and managerial skills of whoever would come up with such a phrase.motherhubbard wrote:Everything else aside- I find the use of the verb "to huddle" deeply offensive.Stampy wrote:From a letter at work:-

It does make it sound like what WTLL really is. Communicating in a patronising and dismissive way so much so that what you want to communicate is lost in the process, and helps reinforce the sense of "them and us".

Re: Whats the real trigger for the 2nd payment for WS Bonus?
Can anybody explain why each mail centre has a different target to meet? Our target at the Dorset MC is 80.4% and, not surprisingly, we are finding it difficult to hit. I think we recently hit 74% - our best so far.

Re: Whats the real trigger for the 2nd payment for WS Bonus?
Think ours is lower because we have lots of smaller Delivery Offices that DON'T have their mail Sequenced.
Only 3 of our larger offices have CSS machines.

Was told targets were based on how efficient your office is
not sure if it's true

Re: Whats the real trigger for the 2nd payment for WS Bonus?
Ours was supposedly based on the amount sequenced, but once we hit the target 79%, we were then told it's also based on the percentage of mech processed compared to manual... Let's face it, it's just a carrot on a stick, every time you get close they move it away...just a little. You will get your bonus, eventually.. but only when they decide to give it to you.. that's the REAL trigger point.
