Lino giving me grief today

Post by 19times »

I nearly lost it today with him :evil/mad

Here's why, bear with me!

Yesterday me and my colleague agreed that we couldn't complete both P+L walks due to it being too heavy ( Tue is the only day we can really it's that bad!) so we informed the lino about this who said ok leave what you think and take as much to keep you out till your time which we did to the best of our knowledge.

Now come today, i come in to find it hasn't gone out :no no and to top it off it was hammered again, he forgot all about us telling him!

Prepped my walk - my P+L partner is off today so i did it on a Bike.

I told the other Lino that i'll be struggling to complete again and that i also had to take the mail/pkts from yesterday to which he replied, i wasn't aware of this go and speak to the Lino who you told yesterday! he was on the loading bay yesterday as we got back and he said we got back early - 12.35pm he said which is bollocks as it was nearer 12.50pm but he "disputes" that :dcfo

Anyway, time we left the office after sorted our pouches out/writing pkts up etc it was near 1pm - my finish time is 1.08pm so he's basically having a go at me saying in that 10mins or so we could have done twhat we left from yesterday - it was a row and a bit something like 35+ mins excluding knockons!!!

Madness, every day is s**t like this now :thumbdown <--------- whys that blanked out yet can use :ncfo :d'oh! :left:

Rant over!

Why would you do that?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Because the Lino who incidentally is the same one who forgot i left some in yesterday asked us to and the bloke on the other walk agreed - we would have got less done if me and the new bloke did the van share.

It's not right i agree but it's a bit less hassle.

I'm with Postman on this, if your duty is P&L then it is P&L at all times, they can't pick and choose what they want you to do.

And remember this line - Just work your hours and let them deal with any extra.

ps. buy a diary and record everything, when you ask for help, who you ask for it and what their reply is...............works for me :Very Happy

He's the Lino who is actually ok though to speak to! it's the other one who gave me grief today because i went to him explaining what went on yesterday!!

"Don't you think you should be talking to him and not me about this"!!!! What pissed me off really was he was saying we got back early yeah ok, 1240-1250 or whatever he says it was is early is it these day's when my finishing time is officially 1.08pm joker :no no

I was jogging round too with trolley in front :no no

I do tend to agree with you even though i prefer working on a Bike on my own to be honest - old habits die hard!

The other bloke on my buddys walk was still prepping as i was ready to bag up plus he had never done it before, i think that's why the Lino asked us if we preferred using a Bike - other bloke said yes straight a way!

Today's lessons learnt are...

Use the correct equipment/delivery method assigned to your duty. You should not be letting management pick and choose, according to what they think might work better.
If you cut-off, do not leave the office before your official finish time. If you have time to spare after finishing up your own duty, do some deads/ASAP to fill up your contract time.
