Our county council has decided that the best way to distribute its newsletter is via D2D. I say newsletter, it is a tabloid size and thickness newspaper. This week I have had bags hitting 20 kilos because I have stuck a single road in each one.
A weight/thickness limit needs to be introduced to protect our health.

RM's suggestion is 16kg for first two pouches, then 14kg for one, then 12kg after that ( or maybe it goes down to 10kg - can't remember ), with different rules depending if you have to deel with significant inclines / loads of stairs, etc. However at Sevenoaks, getting pouches when you need them is hit & miss, so, as I have to use mail bags & safe drops that are not totally secure, I try to keep it to no more than 11kg each bag....takes me longer, but, as I'm PT & collecting docket, I say F*CK 'EM!disgruntledpostie1 wrote:Maybe someone could tell me is it 11kg or 16kg??smokerjim wrote:Why not keep your bags to 11kgs, organise safe drops or hand to hand drops, with your driver ( or compel your manager to bring your bags to you when you need them ) & if it takes you longer, collect the docket or break off......if you hit them with that, it is the only way RM will learn.diggers wrote:I don't need them, they are an absolute nightmare at our office at the moment.

Also as well, as I can't stand & won't trust the bikes, won't use my car, etc, I rarely go out with 16kgs in my first pouch
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Not your problem - it is up to the terracotta soldiers to do something & sort it out, in line with Health & Safety.....if it means you might have to break off or book docket, as long as you do the job right, they can't do anything!pickaname wrote:10 bags per 20 storey tower block? "Walks that are predominantly stairs should have no more than 5kg in their mail bag" Does that include walks that are mainly tenements, i.e. buildings that are between 3 & 6 storeys?
