A MAN attacked a post office yesterday lunchtime, throwing a burning object inside in an apparent arson attack.

Detectives were called to the post office in Glover Road, Locking Stumps, at around 1.20pm.

The Post Office was open for business when the attacker opened the door and threw a lit object inside.

He then ran off.

The offender is described as a white man, around 5ft 5in to 6ft tall, of slim to medium build and was wearing dark clothing.

DC Stephen Page said: "Fortunately, no-one was injured as a result of the incident but staff were left shaken by the ordeal.

"They managed to extinguished the small fire, which did not cause serious damage to the premises.

"We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have seen the offender, either before the incident took place, or following the attack, to get in touch immediately.

"We are also keen to hear from anyone who knows the identity of the offender."

Anyone with any information can call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 419 of 19 January.

Information can also be left anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.

"The offender is described as a white man, around 5ft 5in to 6ft tall, of slim to medium build and was wearing dark clothing." - I see several fitting that description every day  not that near Cheshire, but I've heard criminals travel about a lot these days.

One of those impoverished footballers, then? Balotelli, perhaps? He's good with pyrotechnics, I hear.

He's also good at driving around in his car and handing random electrical items out to people on the street...
