split office
Our office originally voted for the 9 day fortnight but after a bit of arm bending by the managers and three ballotts later they finally got the vote they wanted. STAY AS YOU ARE. you wouldnt believe it!!
A small number of us kicked up a bit of a stink and said we wanted the 9 day fortnight we felt entitled to. The area rep said he would take it up and put in a disagreement.
Royal Mail said they could not split office so tuff we had to stay as we are. Heard today that kidderminster DO had a similar disagreement and Royal Mail had backed down and give those that wanted it more saturdays. Are there any kiddie posties out there who can confirm this ?

Re: split office
Bit nonplussed ,the agreement allows for multiple attendance patterns in a single office ,which should benefit management in terms of flexibility

Re: split office
There is no reason you can't have different sections on different attendance patterns. The only reason is that it is a bit more effort for the managers to cover the duties hence why they are trying to get you to keep you current attendance pattern, no extra work for them.

Re: split office
DIM and area manager state everyone HAS to have same working pattern so its tuff s**t.
Thats why area rep has had to step in with disagreement.

Re: split office
how many staff do you have in your do as that may affect it, say your office only had 10 staff then bit hard to justify 4 different attendance patterns for exampledubz wrote:DIM and area manager state everyone HAS to have same working pattern so its tuff s**t.Thats why area rep has had to step in with disagreement.

Re: split office
But Kidderminster is no doubt a special case being as it is the birthplace of Rowland Hill without whom we wouldn't all have these jobs.dubz wrote:Our office originally voted for the 9 day fortnight but after a bit of arm bending by the managers and three ballotts later they finally got the vote they wanted. Re: split office
Been told we all have to be on same attendance pattern in our (large) office.. And even then they aren't guaranteeing 1in4 Saturdays off - I expect to stay the same, I wouldn't expect anything less from this bullshitting company.
