The way things are going

The way things are going how much longer do you think you would remain in this job? or start to make plans to get out? I know some other jobs can be as bad, but as bad as this???? :d'oh!

There's not much else going around our way and at my age, I'll be sticking it out and fighting the scum. If only I had a crystal ball, but there we are! Who could have forseen two footpads taking over and who could have forseen the gutless, cringing 'managers' who carry out the dirty work for them? I remember managers who had a backbone who would have told that pair of thieves what is what. So, as someone a bit more famous than me once said "Here I stand! I can do no other, God help me!" Bring it on!
The Industrial Workers of the World. The union whose members never scab!

im at an age where i could probably get a job easy enough, parcel delivery etc...a lot of people at our place who has been there for a while have had enough and are already looking for other jobs.

i dont blame them as it is only going to get a lot worse as soon as this late starts has gone through, and been implemented up and down the country, and it is the "norm"then it will be non payment of door to doors.as for me im going to wait for voluntry redundencies before i leave...
im not going to quit just because these c***s are trying to force me to quit,im going to get my redundency before i go.

If EVR came up I'll put my name on the list, doubt i'd get it though, the list would be massive..........my brother said to me today 'give it a year and you will of left'....sadly I think he may be right.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

if there are redundancies and you have been there long enough for a redundancy surely you will get offered one..i dont think its down to age,its down to how long youve been there i think.

Let's clear things up about redundancy - if we are defeated you will just get the statutory minimum - max 12 weeks wages tax free I think....

no big pay offs i am afraid....

To quote from the document which RM wanted the CWU to agree to on Sunday:

"6. MTSF
The current arrangements for managing surpluses are not appropriate for a commercial
organisation making change at the speed required in Royal Mail.
From 1 April 2008, the MTSF agreement will no longer apply to CWU represented grades
in Royal Mail Letters and will be replaced with a process that manages headcount in
a commercial but sensitive way."

ie they are going to scrap the redundancy agreement, and get rid of whoever they want
to on whatever terms they want.
