UNPAID HOLIDAY
When you leave your job you should be paid any holiday pay owed to you. If you employer refuses, you can ask an employment tribunal to enforce your rights. You must make a claim within three months of the date your employment ended.
If your employer refuses to pay you holiday pay, you can ask an employment tribunal to enforce your rights. You may be able to make a claim for all your unpaid holiday pay, even if it goes back for more than a year. You must make a claim within three months of the last date you were not paid holiday pay.
If you are owed holiday pay, you should seek the help of an experienced adviser, for example, at a Citizens Advice Bureau.
Been regularly chasing accrued holiday pay and received this reply today... we can live in hope

We apologise for the ongoing issues you have been facing and the delays in responding to your query.
We are currently undertaking a full payroll reconciliation exercise to ensure that all monies outstanding are paid to all workers no later than 11th January 2012, once this has been processed we will respond on an individual basis to ensure your query has been resolved.
I found this out today. Sorry if it has already been stated in other thread.
The Contract with Angard is for 50 weeks (stated in section 3.1). I hadn't noticed this either.
I have been told that to receive your accrued holiday hours/pay then you must give 1 weeks notice that you want to terminate your contract with Angard. If not then you will receive your entitled holiday pay after the 50 weeks.
Why 50 weeks ?
If you don't terminate your contract then you will stay on Angards 'books' for the 50 weeks and if any suitable work arises then they will contact you, so I was told.
It's important to note that this also affects your P45. You will receive your P45 from Angard after the 50 weeks (!!) or after you terminate the Angard contract.
Hope this helps or at least clears any confusion. Probably adds to the confusion to be honest !!
As requested, I completed a holiday form which contained all of my accrued holiday hours at the same time as I wrote requesting that my contract be terminated. I know the accrued hours to be correct because the lass on the end of the 'phone agreed with my calculations (I had not received an accurate pay slip at the time).
Last Friday, an amount was transferred into my Bank Account by BACS which did not match the calculated holiday pay (less tax). I received a payslip this morning showing the holiday pay - and, surprise, surprise, it is not the figure agreed over the 'phone and I still apparently have 2.24 hours holiday pay outstanding!!
I just spoke to someone in Angard who told me that having to cancel your contract because of the 50 week thing is the first he's ever heard of it and I've to just ignore what the contract says?? I then asked when I'm going to be getting my holiday pay to which he could only reply "after the whole pay fiasco was sorted" ..... that'll be at least a few more weeks/months then :dcfo
what happens if you been working for royal mail for just 3 weeks over xmas? do u have to claim the holiday pay through a form or is it automatically payed?

Holiday pay should automatically be paid i believe, but as said above, just don't take the risk with Angard - claim it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. I've claimed holiday pay for days off exactly as instructed by Angard - attached the holiday form to an email and sent to the address as specified. Guess what, they've ignored it just like all the other emails I've sent. It's all pointless.

kirkleyrunner = i'd suggest persevering. i sent my request off and was acknowledged, although not holding my breath for the ££ though!
also, don't forget, with everyone claiming holiday at the same time they will be inundated so i'd say send it again and leave it 3 days before you resend it!
Got an email yesterday in regards to my queries asking when we'd be receiving the money for holiday pay.
I was told that a request for my P45 had been sent out and that I'd be getting my holiday pay ASAP although they couldn't tell me exactly how much as they had had it deleted from the system.
