I owe Angard money?
This morning, just 3 days after the last one, I received a second "payroll statement to date". This one claims the wrong hours, the right money they've paid me (well near enough - the last one was over £70 out), and a note at the end saying I owe them money (about £70 oddly enough. Someone at Angard can't work out their adding from their taking away).
By my calculations (and my gf who works in accounts and is studying a payroll course at the moment has double checked it) they still owe me some £150, plus holiday pay.
Even if I did owe them money (which I don't), if I were to repay this in full, they'd have to give me some back, when they pay the holiday pay.
Looks like I need to write another email (which they won't reply to, no doubt).
This is beyond a joke. Anyone else been told to repay money?

Re: I owe Angard money?
Don't forget to mention the debt letters...I've heard from a few Royal Mail xmas temps who say they have still not been paid for work they did before xmas, or have been paid bizarre amounts of money (ranging from 0.01p to £100).
I want to reinvestigate the situation,I would like those who worked for Angard to contact me by email if they have have experienced the above scenario, and particularly if resulting cashflow problems have caused them problems meeting rent/mortgage payments etc. It would help me enormously if those getting in touch would potentially be willing to be named in a news story about it.
I would really need to hear back from anyone affected by Wednesday if possible.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: I owe Angard money?
Just had letter saying I owe £319.00, yes I do owe them some of the advance but they owe me £200+ and my holiday pay. Amazing how they are getting these letters out quickly (all be it incorrectly). I've never worked for such a shambolic organisation in my life and I will never work for Angard again. Does anyone in Angard know how to read a timesheet and then to use a calculator.

Re: I owe Angard money?
Thankfully I stopped working as I knew this would end up being the case when a company as inept as Angard started giving advances. I apparently owe them £31 and some pence which I'm very pleased about as it means that they'll have to contact me for once in order to find out whether they're getting it back. I will let it go to court and suggest that I pay back at the rate of £0.01 a week.
Angard = utter scum. Scary that so many people are owed such high amounts of money.

Re: I owe Angard money?
Is everyone entitled to holiday pay? I was speaking to parents just the other day and they said you have to be working for atleast 3 months before you can get holiday pay. I only worked with Angard for 3 weeks. If I am meant to get paid holiday pay then what would I be owed?
Oh and also I seem to owe Angard £203 I don't know where they got these figures from. It seems a £350 + £174 is all that I got according to the payslips yet I owe £203 in debt. I haven't checked my bank account for ages so I will have to wait until I get my bank statement before I have to sort this mess out.

Never heard of the 3 month rules but IIRC there was a change to the laws on Holiday Pay back in 2001 so your parents may be rembering the rules from before then.Rafiki wrote:I was speaking to parents just the other day and they said you have to be working for at least 3 months before you can get holiday pay.
From what other Angard people say it should be detailed on your pay chits. If not you'll need to contact them but very roughly I think its about 1 hour per 6 to 8 hours work.Rafiki wrote:I only worked with Angard for 3 weeks. If I am meant to get paid holiday pay then what would I be owed?

Re: I owe Angard money?
Hello fellow unfortunate Angand sufferers. My Individual payroll statement came today. What a read!
According to the poor temp who probably wrote it, I owe them £481.72
They actually owe me about £250. Minimum.
Spoke to the clueless temp on the payroll line who told me this is because id recieved two post office £350 which of course never happened. I only recieved one.
Aside from that,
-The payments supposedly made into the bank on the statement were the wrong dates and didnt actually happen.
-They calculated my pay for 115 hours instead of 150
- No mention of the holiday pay they owe me.
As I was giving this information my heart just sank - just the sound of someone typing randomly into a system. I really dont think me ringing today will make any difference to getting this sorted. The fact that they dont know that its the fifth time I've rang to resolve this suggests to me that there is no plan or tracking of these problems. Just methods to fob us off and buy them time.
Then this, the end of the call was the real kiler..
Angard "Sorry to hear youve been having these problems sir, what I will do is pass this on and get this sorted, and they will get this sorted and DEFINATELY RING OR EMAIL YOU"
(Silence)
Angard "Is there anything else sir?"
Me "Do you actually have my phone number or email?
(Silence)
Angard ".................................No"
Me "Soooo...."
Angard "................Sorry sir"
So there were have it. In my opinion it pretty much shows that Angard are on the ropes financially and are delaying and delaying everything possible. These people on the phones won't help us because I believe they do not have the money.
We have to take this to next level now and seek legal advice its the only way will be paid.
Iam going to attempt to contact Reed and The Post Office until i reach some of the higher echelons and this is resolved.

Re: I owe Angard money?
I received a letter today saying I owed around £225 and after checking things I agree that I probably have been overpaid but not to that amount, if my situation is anything to go by what seems to have happened is that for some people Angard have generated Multiple Payroll numbers as I have received Payslips which have different numbers (4 in total 2 for each number) which cover different weeks and sometimes the same week! and other weeks dont exist at all and for some people the alleged overpayment (actually underpayment) will be due to the voucher(s) being applied to only part of the time worked for Royal Mail.
The payroll summary I got covered 3 weeks (1 of which was also included on another payroll number with a different tax code!) and had the 2 vouchers and Xmas eve pay included,
Last week I also received a payment for ~£270 for another week which was not included in this under a different pay number and I also had a payment of ~£200 in December on the same number and this payment is not listed on the summary sheet and is what is responsible for me being overpaid by my calculation. So if they hadn't done that I would still be underpaid I also have 2 weeks (1 week 2 days to be exact) pay which is unnacounted for under either number in the payslips I have received.
So I have politely e-mailed Angard (not wasting money on a phone call and in the letter e-mail is listed as a preferred contact method) with a detailed summary of hours worked and deductions I know about and told them that while I am willing to repay any money owed I will not be repaying until I think it is accurate (when not all payments are listed or weeks included it is obviously not) and that they should first deduct it from any holiday pay I am owed.
What I would recommend is that people do e-mail Angard and keep a copy of sent email so that if Angard do try to take things further you have proof that you took steps to contact them and explain why you disagree

Re: I owe Angard money?
Over the Christmas period I received no payslips or money in the bank. However I was fortunate enough to get a £350 voucher twice after an apology from some Royal Mail manager type for all the cockups the casuals were experiencing. A few days ago I received my first payslip - which was gibberish basically but did mention holiday money. Today I received a more detailed payslip stating I worked only 49.5 hours over the Christmas period (it was actually 123.5 hours) no mention of holiday money and claiming I owe them £461.80 !
Are HMRC taking any interest in Angard ? By not paying casuals for their work they are also denying the taxman his cut.
The Christmas before last I also worked as a casual (for Royal Mail), was paid on time (and a better hourly rate), received payslips on time and received holiday money no problem. If Royal Mail want any casuals for next Christmas thay need to dump Angard.
