Re: Angard workers - contracts
Angard contracts do not contain pay rate. What they showed at the Christmas casual 'interview' was an A4 sheet with the pay rates but they never gave a copy to employees. Also, the pay rate was and probably still is on the website when you log into your application and click the job you got.
RM casuals that got transferred to Angard were never told their pay rate by Angard. RM said it would be the same as we got from RM - the basic was the same but all the extras (e.g night work, Sunday work) where substantially reduced from what we were getting from RM. We only found out what we would get by working and receiving our pay slips.

I remember the phone call back in late August from my Manager to basically say we were moving across and if we wanted to keep working say yes to Angard. I asked at the time about changes to pay etc as we had heard that this was happening and needed assurances that our pay would remain the same. I even have a copy of a letter from RM that stated our pay would not change. Like Verging I was pig sick to find we had lost a huge amount of shift allowances.
I am banking on the Agency Working rules to redress the balance....but don't hold out much hope!
Why am I still working for RM? Great bunch of people that I work with. Its my 2nd job so my earnings make up some extra's. I don't like being taken for a ride but in this day and age you have to go along with the "my way or the highway" mindset of employers. I would approach the CWU but as the track record over Christmas has proven they couldn't give a toss.

I'm not up my employees contracts but surely payrate should be included in your contract.
