12.4 Formal Notice Period
Retirement on ill health grounds in both cases will be subject to normal contractual notice of termination of employment or 9 weeks notice whichever is the greater (9 weeks notice will also apply to employees on trial where they are being terminated on ill health grounds). This will be with pay.
9 weeks is the minimum 12 weeks the maximum.

So what happens if there are no jobs available in your local office and moving to another office is out of the question as well and they can't/won't make a duty up for you.....what then???????keithposty wrote:they offered me 12 weeks pylon so i should consider myself lucky

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Re: ihr
well the ultimate is redundancy but they would need very strong grounds for that
what happens in the norm is you sign for a job then they have to make reasonable adjusments or sign for an indoor duty
it helps if you are near a revision so a resign is poss
if all else fails and you are made redundant through IHR then an appeal would be in order
i myself have been fighting for the last 18 months to keep my job and have only just been given the good news
my advice would be to keep fighting and keep in touch with your branch and area rep
as a rule employers dont mess with DDA issues, you object and they tend to back down

Re: ihr
Sorry keith, I didn't read that last question was to me. I took it from my IHR document that I got when I was IHR. Obviously people with more service would get the 12 weeks PILON. I got out before they had the claws completely stuck in, no permanent scars :D
