A STOURBRIDGE postie is hoping to deliver a first class performance when he takes to the stage in a production of Robinson Crusoe.
Stourbridge Pantomime Company’s show, running at Stourbridge Town Hall later this month, will star postman and children’s entertainer Dave Jones, known as Wally Wombat, as Dame Crusoe.
Dave’s 13-year-old son Connor and nine-year-old daughter Stacie will also be making appearances in the play, singing in the junior chorus.
Wife and mum Jo Jones will also be helping out with show - as part of the backstage props team.
Directed by performer turned director Steve Humpherson and with choreography by Adam Partridge, the show will feature musical direction by Barry Hipkiss.
Proceeds will be split between the charity Reach and The Lupus Society - which keen marathon runners Dave and Jo are long-time supporters of as Jo herself suffers from Lupus.
The show will run from Saturday January 21 to Saturday January 28.
Panto co spokesman Wendy Hemming said: “This is only the second time Stourbridge Pantomime Company have presented Robinson Crusoe – it is guaranteed to be a well-sung, well-danced production with lots of fun and laughter for all ages.”
Evening shows start at 7.15pm each night and matinees start at 2.15pm on January 21, 25 and 28 except on Sunday when the matinee begins at 1.15pm and the evening performance starts at 6.15pm.
Tickets, priced £8, are available from Peter Mills on 01384 836963 and the box office at Stourbridge Town Hall, from Thursday January 29. The box office can be contacted on 01384 812959 between 10am and 3pm.

I dare say he'll be excellent in the pantomime, after all he works all year round for the No.1 pantomime in not-so-great Britain, Royal Fail and the seventeen hundred shyte-for-brains, or DIMs if you prefer.
