7.84 vs 6.58 PH for Night Shifts.. Angard have robbed us.

Post by jw86 »

upon application and accepting the job i was informed the pay rate was 7.84 PH 22:00 - 6:00 Mon - Sat. Angard have now decided to pay only 6.58 for these hours. how do they get away with this s**t? :hmmmm

Sundays for 22:00 - 6:00 we originally were informed of £9.94 PH but nah you guessed it Angard have paid only 6.58. :no no

So yeah Angard have done us over here, proper scammed us out of money. you can view the original pay rates which were presented to us if you log in to your royal mail jobs account. I have printed out multiple copies of this to use as evidence of being presented and offered the job under false pretenses and i advise you to do the same. :dance

Angard are a bunch of dishonest money stealing swindlers. ;liar

They are paying staff who have been with RM for years minimum wage so doubt youll ever get that rate. Most staff on Long term RM direct contracts said when angard was launched their contracts were terminated and then told to join angard at a lower rate. They are even sending people for breaks who have been with the agency for a long time so they get around AWR rules, this should all be illegal but its not.

You need to point out to them that the rate advertised when you applied is the rate that they legally have to pay otherwise it's yet another breach of contract by them. I don't know whether an Employment Tribunal can order them to pay the advertised rate but there's not a lot of point in having ETs if they can't; so I think you should be able to get the right pay via the ET1 route rather than having to go to the county court (small claims) which is the route you would have had to pursue in the past.

Yes it is - it is called Avoidance and they can be fined up to £5k per incident. Check bis.gov.uk website and search for Agency Worker Regulations. Also, check REEDS own website and search for Agency Worker Regulations they claim they had a major input into the BIS website. There is a clause that may allow them to by-pass the regulations but according to a letter sent to the CWU from RM, see http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 47&t=41806" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , it appears we are entitled to additional benefits as a result of the AWR - problem is nobody at Angard/RM will tell us what they are.

I emailed the following to Angard on 4th Jan...still awaiting a reply. :cuppa

I am writing to ascertain the position of current staff working for Angard who have been with you since the transfer of contracts from Royal Mail on 12th September 2011.

With the introduction of the new Agency Working rules on 1st October 2011 I was under the impression that following a 12 week qualifying period those agency workers still in position at the 12 week period would be entitled to the same pay and conditions as those held by those performing a similar role within Royal mail i.e Pay, breaks and other terms and conditions.

As we now enter 2012 I have yet to hear from you as to how these changes will affect those of us still undertaking casual work for Royal Mail.

I would be grateful if you could let me know as soon as possible how and when these changes will be implemented and whether or not there will be any retrospective backdating of pay to 1st October?

I realise that following the difficulties at Christmas your offices may well be suffering a backlog of queries, however these changes were fundamental and having already taken a drop in wage on transferring over to Angard (especially night allowance) I would like to see some action before the end of the month.

I look forward to your reply in anticipation.

I have been on the telephone to them all week - this is my 14th consecutive week since 1st October. Some of Angard do not appear to know anything, HR at Royal Mail have not told them anything. A Leicestershire mail centre that seems to have been an Angard pilot site is rumoured to have provided their casuals with the information about the benefits around 16th December. Angard people that look after the mail centre I work at cant even get hold of the Angard people looking after Leicestershire casuals and claim RM HR havent told them anything either. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh
