Angard - Will they still exist???

Post by steven100 »

After reading so many horror stories regards this fictional company( this company will cease very shortly, just my hunch), will RM be responsible for paying staff who haven't been paid or will RM be dragged through the courts.
I hope that everything is sorted but i;ve just got this naggin feelin.

The company this year have saved a smallish fortune, not as much as they wanted but they have still saved quite a lot.
When things even out and they will they will save even more.
Angard aren't going anywhere.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Hopefully they'll cease to exist. After Christmas 2011 I'll be very surprised if anyone works for Angard ever again. The fortune that they're saving is all down to mistreating and under paying us - the work force. They will eventually fall, it's just a question of when.

I sincerely hope that Angard have absolutely nothing to do with future employment at RM - Christmas or at any other time.
Having worked at RM through other agencies and as a direct RM casual the pay has always been better than this year.
Last year it was still more or less basic minimum wage but as a RM casual we were paid more for extra hours, especially non scheduled work days. Also the rate for Sunday was much better last year. I was not able to work any Sundays this year. I wanted to, asked and there was a large volume of work to be done, but it was a "no". The reason was because it would have involved paying extra to the agency to have us.
Also where did the idea to pay people an extra 50p an hour to do nights come from. Totally unacceptable and another example of taking advantage of the casual workforce. Some people had to accept nights. They had no other work and there were no days shifts left - but they were entitled to a better rate of pay.
I spoke to some of the people involved in recruitment at RM where I was working and was left in no doubt that this agency having been kicked so hard will not resurface to be involved next Christmas. Apparently, some Angard staff have been sacked and some have offered their resignation. Heads have fallen but the problems with them started long before we began working. Their total lack of communication and willingness to allow us to telephone and e-mail them rang alarm bells. They were a total mess from the start. The one Angard representative I managed to speak to at the site I was working realised how bad it was. She took my number but never bothered to telephone me back.
Remember, I am someone who has been paid correctly - all three weeks and at the right tax code. I am just waiting for my holiday and my P45. I will never consider working for them again.
I have an occasional look at this site just to see how some of my colleagues may be getting on.
There is absolutely no chance of Angard getting involved in RM recruitment again - no chance. RM would be scoring such an incredible own goal that senior management will have to come up with another option.
That is, if going private does not kill them off too!

Angard is RM, I doubt there were many permanent Angard Admin staff. RM will just register another agency name next year.

Yes.. I can very easily see how they 'saved' a small fortune .. by not paying thousands of people.

Angard or a similar 'in-house' agency owned by Royal Mail will still exist.

Whether they are called Angard and/or REED is going to be managing it is open to speculation. Think the name Angard may not recover from this fiasco - it has to be very embarrassing at the moment. REED need to take responsibility for what has happened as does Royal Mail but what they will do is anyone's guess.

Heard through the grapevine that they are going to be re-badged in time for Easter Pressure (Any Volunteers?) >>> Consignia Recruiting is the name being banded around.
