Should i chase angard for what they owe me?

Hi guys i was just wondering whether or not its actually worth me chasing angard for £40? iv been given two payments into my bank and a £350 voucher. So altogether the payment iv received for working this xmas is not so bad considering the fact that many people have not even received anything near the amount they were meant to receive.

My view is that you should always pursue or claim what you are entitled to. Problem with this country is that we don't complain enough and therefore companies like Angard would getaway with it. For example if a hundred xmas casuals decide not to pursue £40 from Angard that they are entitled to then that means £40K that Angard have saved in legitimate employee pay....

For example if a hundred xmas casuals decide not to pursue £40 from Angard that they are entitled to then that means £4K that Angard have saved in legitimate employee pay....

Lets assume they got their 18000 Christmas casuals and say around 10000 have been short changed by £40 thats a saving of £400k if those people do not persue them for it. I would think the amount owed is considerably more.

The cost of actually dealing with the mess they have created must be an horrendous amount too.

£40, I'd say definitely chase them up for it. I'm in a similar (though less serious, money-wise) situation. Having tried to work with Angard's pay slips and gone through some calculations, I've worked out I've been underpaid by around £3.50. I never thought I'd quibble over £3.50, and if this was any other company than Angard, I probably wouldn't even notice. However I am inclined to get every penny owed to me, do you think it's worth chasing them over such small amount?

Definitely chase them up for it, even at +21yo night shift rates this (£40 net) is more than a 7.5 hour shift pay (7.5 x 6.58 = £49.35 gross) so yes chase them for every last penny. I will not be contemplating withdrawing my ET1 even if they make me good to the last penny. Fact is that they have withheld wages, illegally, they have failed to supply me with statements with which to check my tax and NI contributions and lastly they have cost me money in phone calls and my personal time in trying to get in contact with Angard, something of a tale which I believe should be explained in front of an Employment Court.

It would have been so much better if Angard had communicated with us promptly and correctly throughout this issue, that is after all the beauty of websites (although theirs is crap) email and lastly but not least letters, its last option that we are working for......

I suspect openness, honesty and integrity is the last thing in Angard Staffing's values.

Am with you Bob! All Angard needed to do was answer phone calls/e-mails in the first place (let's put aside bad interviewing where no tax information collected). I have escalated my concerns to RM main Board to get any joy. Am still being told that problem with pay only affecting minority - Ha! Also being told how important communication and quality of service is to Angard. That said, they only respond when I approach RM. Have unanswered e-mails out there right now, so expect will be e-mailing RM again soon. What is deal with form ET1?

The ET1 is the form with which you initiate proceedings for an Employment Tribunal, I have started this and have a date in February. It costs you nothing (can even be done online) but should shake some of these people in Angard out of their stupor. I have quoted illegal withholding of pay, failure to produce pay statements, and their general extremely poor communication. I am still building the case, and will only be able to come up with financial figures once Angard provide the statements of hours worked/Pay and deductions (if they ever do). Nevertheless I have a date set for a hearing in my local area, and look forward to seeing what Angard have to say for themselves.

Can you add into the ET1 other aspects that Angard/RM have done that are illegal to strengthen your case - e.g. Break Times breaching Working Time Regulations (we got 15 minutes for 5 hours to 6 hours 59 but Working Time Regulations gives a minimum of 20minutes for 6 hours). I assume once done you cannot add other aspects like this and it needs to be done at the start.
