Ringfenced duties

Post by johnnyp »

Who else has these in there offices? In ours p.h.g.s. and drivers jobs are ringfenced ,reason because they get an allowance so when we have a resign unless they voluntarily come of them duties no one can knock them off.I can see the sense as they are used to the extra money, but a lot of other people were not happy and felt this was wrong.I myself agree with this protection of a duty, what do other people think? Is this right or wrong.

We have them in my office but it appears as though not everyone agrees with them. Me I can see the benefits if used properly, however, I am sure Rocky will point out whats happening in our office.

We have ex-phg`s with ringfenced money and i beleive they should have been bought out of their old grade.

In the early days, phg`s took more responsability or passed typing tests for keying/MAA jobs.
If RM bought out the old phg grade, there wouldnt be a need for ringfencing and we would all be on the same wage now.

I don't think that duties should be ring fenced during a full office resign as this is usually after a time of major change and many duties will have changed considerably and it starts to erode seniority even further. An older person that may have done walks for years may now decide that it's getting too difficult and want to take the opportunity to pick a driving turn or ex PHG turn only to find that there are now no other options to walking as they are all ring fenced
I think the only exceptions should be for medical reasons :Boo hoo! :Boo hoo! :Boo hoo!

Can I get a ring fenced duty with Margi and will it be a good one with over 20 years service, plenty of sea air, private estate with about 200 drops and good X mas tips would suit me fine.
Let me know if we can sort a deal out?? :nana :nana :dance :dance :dance :cuppa :cuppa

Wasnt this part of the way forward agreement?
Any duty which is not changed when a resign takes place can be kept out of the repick wether that duty is filled by an ex-phg or not. If there is major change however, all the duties that are affected have to go into the pot.

feck me don't get me started on this. our one and only ring fenced phg job is about as far up the dom's arse as the bloke that does the job. He has been doing the shirt stuff (line manager) for over 7 months. however come the resign his job will not be included. just in case he does not get the position of manager. untouchable him and his duty. it is currently bieng done by his or the doms best m8's... pays to be in with the screws me thinks
floating postie.
