I am still working for Angard. Didn't get paid today but still expected to work tomorrow. I got paid the last two weeks by bank transfer, I have never received a voucher. Phoned Angard twice today, with my DOM in attendance, both times they took my details and said I would be contacted, but they haven't phoned back. My manager told them they he expects them to pay by the end of day and they said "that's exactly what we are working on".
Now I hear people have been told we will not be paid until 11th January. I am not sure whether to keep working now. My manager wants to keep me on for a few weeks at least, but how can I work when I no faith in Angard paying me for that work, or the work I've already done?
It was not so bad when RM were backing us up with the emergency payments. Now that support has gone I think our position is much more serious. It could take months to claw back what we are owed, and there is no guarantee of getting it at all.
I don't know what to do, I told my manager that I would not leave him in the lurch, and that I will work tomorrow, which I will. He has done his best. But after that I'm not sure. Think I'll have a word with him tomorrow and say I'm happy to work for him, but not through Angard.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Worried
Think yourself lucky. I haven't had a permanent job in 3 years. I've just finished my 3rd Christmas at Royal Mail. I've been told I'm a 'good casual' and the people are great to work with at the Southampton night shift. The hours are good (my last job involved working 12 hours a day, sometimes starting at 3am, with only a 30min break) It would be an ideal job to have. If only Angard would pull their finger out and bloody pay us for it lol

Re: Worried
Thanks Postman. I had a chat with my DOM today, and told him how unhappy I am with my treatment from Angard. He is not happy with the situation either, and seems a bit embarrassed by the whole thing really. He has asked me to stick with them until March, when our office is implementing the delivery working changes (park and loop etc). If those changes result in any extra permanent staff vacancies, I have first refusal. Can't say fairer than that really.POSTMAN wrote:You're in a DO,stick with it!

It's okay to stick things out if you know there are possibilities in the future, everyone has to earn their opportunities.
Mind you, I still expect to be paid something between now and March!

Re: Worried
It is despicable the way Angard are treating people. They are also in breach of contract which clearly says people will be paid weekly in arrears. I got paid 1pence yesterday and am owed over £400. I will be going to the Citizens Advice Bureau next week.
