Express and Star want to hear from you Re: Angard Staffing

Post by grant1985 »

Hey guys I like other people are still waiting for my pay after the PR stunt just before Christmas (remember when we thought Royal Mail actually gave a damn) so I have contacted The Express and Star.

For some reason they thought it had all been resolved?? I obviously told them it was not!! and they would like you to send your comments/complaints and queries to b.sharpe@expressandstar.co.uk Becky is the Chief News Editor and wants to hear from you all.

Cheers

The nationals tend to pick it up from the locals, in fact the Angard story went quietly national from a rash of local press stories originally.

The Express & Star is a Midlands regional pper. Quite a good one, but not a national.

But the story they ran merely concentrated on local postal workers (they didn't even reply to my e-mail as I don't live in the Midlands). And then they simply parroted out the response that Angard/RM gave them.

It's a pity that investigative journalist Paul Foot is no longer alive - he'd have run an incisive piece on this nationally. Trouble is, none of the national news media are interested... they swallow the line that it was a "local" issue.

Okay, you could try the route of setting up an official 10 Downing Street campaign poll to get a debate instigated by Parliament but you need something ridiculous like 100,000 signatures for that and even then, there's no compunction on the Government to act.

Personally, I think if we all write to our MPs, politely and concisely outlining the facts and emphasising the points that Angard are owned by Royal Mail, that Reed Recruitment operates the Reed in Partnership Ltd , working with government, employers and key partner organisations to provide recruitment, people development and business support services to help people make the transition from welfare to work. This is hardly a good way treat people who are seeking work and much-needed wages!

I'll be writing to my MP tomorrow and cc'ing it to James Reed and Moya Greene. Maybe then the arrogant gits will be forced to answer.
