I don't see why you would have to claim it. I spoke to an accountant friend and he said they are legally obliged to pay it.

Also, holiday pay is shown on the pay slip I received in the post a couple of days ago, so I'm not contacting them about it.

Does anyone know how the holiday pay is worked out? I mean is it worked out by the numbers of hours you have worked? or by the number of weeks you have worked?

By the number of hours. I don't know the exact figure, but it is about 0.12 holiday hours for every hour worked - according to the lady at the end of the 'phone when I enquired.

Simplest way to look at It is approximately 1 hour holiday for every 8 hours worked. It should be paid at whatever pay rate you are on. If you do more than 8 hours per day only 8 hours count towards your holiday. So if you work 12 hours on a particular day you still only get 1 hour holiday - the excess is lost.

I've just been told by Angard that NO ONE will recieve holiday pay this week.
According to the guy I spoke to, their are so many people that still haven't been paid the correct amount that they are now priority and once that's sorted, expected to be around the end of January, they will start paying all holiday pay and sending out p45's.

I called the 0845 460 7487 number today to find out what's happening with the nearly £300 or so Angard still owe me. I had only recieved an automated response to my payroll query emailed monday 2nd Jan. THe girl was very polite, but unable to help and quite happy to pass off obvious DISINFORMATION regarding the Holiday Pay, ie, that I had to cancel my 50 week contract with Angard via the website in order to claim this. I asked for the specific URL which she didn't know and went to ask her manager about... guess what, it doesn't exist. The girl took my details and said she would pass them to payroll team but could not tell me if that was Angard Payroll or Reedglobal Payroll. ALso, she couldn't access the email which I had sent them. Having several years experience in outsourced call centre management myself, it's very obvious that this team of 12 people has simply be set up to pass on your details and fob you off with BULL5H1T.

I don't have much confidence in this process and will patiently wait for my pay until 11th Jan as promosed today. If it's not resolved by then, I will go to the small claims court and will also be asking for compensation for the time and energy I have had to invest in chasing them for the money they owe me. Angard can pay for a lawyer to fight this if they want, but it will probably cost them considerably more than what the judge might award me. As they are a Ltd company, a judge may also issue a winding up order for non payment of debt. That should get their attention.
I will warn everyone I know NEVER to deal with ANgard in the future.

Personally,

I've worked at the MDEC twice previously, 9 years ago, and 2 years ago, there was NEVER this much of a screwup.

Should have stayed on jobseekers, Angard (owned by Royal Mail) have royally screwed MANY people over, and caused stress and hardship to many (more reasons to claim through a small claims court).

I think it's high time for a small claims via the courts, and I encourage all those affected to do the same. Writing up a small claims is VERY easy, and if you have any trouble with it then ask a friend, or ask CAB (citizens advice bureau) in your local area.

If the thousands effected by this take them through the courts, then heads should roll, this whole farce has been ridiculous and the people in charge need to be replaced.

Well, I've received a payment by BACS today, which I can only guess is holiday pay as I have not worked sinced 23rd and they have already paid me near enough the correct amount. I submitted the holiday pay form last week and it has been 'approved' as I have received an email confirmation. However, the payment received today does not equate to the amount of holiday pay I have accrued (not even within 20% of that figure!)
