More problems anticipated?

Post by kirkleyrunner »

I just received an unexpected text message from Angard:
"please refer any pay queries to the Angard helpline at...blah,blah................no issues are being rectified at RM sites and POL vouchers are no longer being issued."

Not what I wanted to hear a few hours away from pay day, they are obviously expecting more problems tomorrow!

At least they're communicating I suppose.
That's the first I've ever heard from them, after working for them for 4 weeks.

Just received it too.

Yes they are communicating but after using the 1318 number tonight and getting a payroll advisor they couldnt actually answer any questions with respect to: the holiday pay and the 31st December cut-off for claiming it; pay rates; how much holiday I could take - remember I dont see my final holiday entitlement until after their cut-off.

The person even asked how I got their number. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

How can we suddenly be given a holiday claim cut-off date which is not mentioned in our contracts or induction book nor anywhere else apart from on here.

Apart from this last text message, I've received no fewer than six others in the last two days from 'reed.co.uk' telling me that there is work available at the Exeter Mail Centre and to contact them urgently.....each of these texts arriving within 10 minutes of the advertised shift starting (yes, including texts yesterday and today at 5.50am asking for early shift workers starting at 6am!!)

Wait till you get phone calls that tell you there is a shift and it started an hour ago. I got these in November when I moved to being an Angard casual from a RM casual. I tell them I might be good but I cannot turn the clock back.

Yes me too though I did speak to someone today on payroll and they told me I have been. Paid for tomorrow but she couldn't tell me how much so perhaps the txt is a precaution!

Agreed, those who received the voucher have actually done better than most. I've done 4 weeks and still haven't been paid as much as 1 voucher:

Week 1 - £0 (week in arrears)
Week 2 - £120
Week 3 - £170
Week 4 - £0

£290 total for 4 weeks on a really sh*tty round. :Boo hoo!

Basically if you were planning to live of Angard earnings you'd end up living off credit instead. I'm hoping someone somewhere will take on Angard for bank charges for getting overdrawn with bounced payments.
