Mailcentre empty!

Post by hubbahubba »

Came in to a near empty MC today,no diversions available in our region,so shift manager was offering half days to anyone who wanted it.
Casuals stood around doing nothing with the rest of us,must be costing a fortune! What a way to run a company!

well our d.o. is chocka with tomorrows mail, theres about 30 yorks full of flats/dsa/holiday mags, parcels, pkts etc. so we are going to get crucified. we,ve still got the ws mails to come in,,,, so much for ''its going to be a quiet day'' according to management. ha. what a joke. they said its job and knock as well. we.ll be lucky to finish by 3pm. its going to fail obviously. the cheeky twats even asked part timers if they want to come in up to 3 hours early as well. but only to book it as overtime, as they would not be able to finish 3 hours before their time. i,ve already told them i,m cutting off.

Here in Exeter MC we cleared ALL our inward mail on Thurday's night shift for delivery on Friday. This left just Friday's inward mail to process on the Friday night shift which wasn't particularly busy (we made 35 minutes!!) so hopefully our colleagues out in delivery land did not have too busy a job on Saturday.

Tonight (Tuesday 27th) we are ALL back in for a full night shift with 2 hours paid at premium rate plus a lieu day (Same arrangement for next Monday 2nd January too). What work we are going to find when we get in will be interesting!!

At least we are now on the 39 hour week having triggered the 2nd part of the walk sequencing targets in mid December - we are told we will be getting the £600 in the next week or two.

They had us in at 10pm last night...........

Then sent us all home again at MIDNIGHT - when we ran out of work to do!!!
And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.

You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.
