Let us know what happens, this could be interesting.
To be honest, I don't think my DOM understands the Angard situation (why would he?). I'm working in a rural DO where everything is a bit behind the times and things are still done the old way.
Although the whole Angard situation has been a total disgrace, on a local level I've quite enjoyed the work. The RM permanent staff have been really good to me and I've been made to feel part of the team.
My DOM has been excellent. As soon as he heard about people not getting paid he phoned me on my mobile, while I was delivering, to find out if I had been paid (it was payday). I had been payed(not much) but if I hadn't, I'm confident he would have sorted something out straight away.

As for things winding down, not in deliveries it is'nt. Parcels seem to be easing off but we've managers from all over delivering them and even the DSM is in delivering them from his car. s**t loads of xmas cards on IPS that the new all singing dancing super duper WSM's spit out, don't you just love expensive technology! The old bundling machines would've read most of that stuff.
Don't you need a higher class of business insurance to deliver packets?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Its probably a RM company car. If I see him loading his car up tomorrow I'll ask At least he's not chauffeured like some of the top bods that have come in for meetings the past few years.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
We left about 16:20, both Matt & Glen said there was work tomorrow & Friday.... I did hear that the night shift had been binned but to be fair there were loads of rumours flying around!!!!
Peterborough Outhouse seems pretty dead, Wednesdays night shift has been cancelled, and the 9 to 5ers were strived for work, I am amazed we are going in tomorrow, apparently for a "fall day" no way we will be in on Friday, yet alone extra days.
I suspect I meant full day tomorrow, that was my first choice.
I dont know where you are post watcher so I cant say how busy you are, just that I (person who works at Peterborough Outhouse) was told to expect a full day of work. Based on today im not expecting alot of work. Not unless they find a stash of catalogues we did not do today.
Time management folk would have had a blue fit, if they saw 25 of us sorting the magazines, which could easily have been done by 10, and would mean less queuing when we all tried to put their bundle in the same black bin.
Manager came round this morning asking if people wanted to go home, (this was at about 9am and i had only been there since 6am!!). So off i went home. I asked about tomorrow and as usual got a wishy/washy answer!! I will go in in the morning but are not expecting much to do!! I am in Peterborough (Shrewsbury avenue).

well im Peterborough Outhouse, and im done for the year, and with Angard for ever, never again.
The Preston Outstation closed down today and the casuals in Preston on the early shift (7-2) where told NOT to come in tomorrow (Friday) as there is not enough work, but where still expected to come in Saturday (6-6). Volunteers where also requested for New Years Eve
At Preston the manager also told us that if you did not miss a day of your contract will get a £50 bonus (missing Friday will not affect this). I dont know if this is just for Preston early shift Casuals or if it is true for all Casuals. This does of course rely on Angard actually paying people though.
In the Oldham Mail Sorting our contracts have been torn up. The line manager rallied us together at 12:40 and said that the place would be closing in 10 minutes and that there wouldn't be anymore work, wished us all the best in our pay, said thank you and then we signed out and off we went. So in the Oldham Sorting Centre we have finished on the 22nd December at 12:40 but will be paid up until 13:00 today, so we have finished two days earlier than I expected. Does anyone know what is happening about this bonus? On the job description it said that you could be entitled to a bonus based on attendance and attitude to work I think. I did great, I even had to do the sorting of other people's mail on collections when I was doing the rounds just so the actual Royal Mail staff wasn't upset that people had thrown mail in that weren't for their area. Damn agencies :D, well some of them.
