css............specialist duties?????

Does a css duty come under a specialist duty? Is it a prerogative duty?............can any one help clear this matter up for me. we are shortly having an office resign and there is some confusion over this.............many thanks for any help with this matter................

2.2 Applicants

Applications for the role of CSS and iLSM operator will normally be made through the IRIS System. An alternative system will be made available if necessary.

Those who apply will be given a self-selection form (attached at Appendix 1 to Annex C) for the individuals to personally assess whether the job is suitable and that they feel they could meet the requirements of the role. They will also receive a copy of the detailed job specification.(attached at Appendix 2 to Annex C).

2.3 Selection

It is recognised that these Automation roles are classed as a Specialist Skills role. Following an initial introduction and the appropriate training on the operators’ tasks, individuals will have to demonstrate their ability to work safely without supervision (for CSS only) and that they have the aptitude to operate machines efficiently to the specification required. This will be assessed in line with the resourcing process for Specialist Skills/Advanced TPM positions agreed under Way Forward. Initial selection will be from individuals who are already Advanced/TPM trained in seniority order, then other candidates on a seniority basis unless individuals are surplus when MTSF will apply and priority given.
