Having trawled through many posts and seeing the problems we`re all having with Angard, I`ve finally found out how to change your tax code If you`re on the wrong one.
Phone HMRC on 08453000627, fight your way through the robot menu and when you get through to a real person tell them you work for angard as a royal mail xmas casual. tell them the tax code angard has given you and ask HMRC to change it for you. They will change your tax code while you are on the phone and send the details to angard (electronically/instantly) and to you (by post).
Angard should incorporate the new tax code into your final payslip next week and you will get all your overpaid tax back. Should this not happen do the following:
send your p45 (from angard) and a p50 (download, print off & complete from http://www.hmrc.gov.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and a covering letter with your personal details and details of overpaid tax you are claiming to HMRC.
The following is the address I was given (I`m in Leeds) please check with the advisor on the phone to make sure you are posting yours to the correct tax office.
HMRC
PAYE SA
PO BOX 1970
LIVERPOOL L75 1WX
turnaround for repayment if you do it this way is approx four weeks, you do NOT need to speak to angard for this, HMRC will sort this for you.good luck to all casuals finishing this week, I hope at least some of us get kept on after xmas.

Re: RMC guide to getting the correct tax code
Success at last. Got my payslip this morning and, as HMRC promised, my tax code has changed from OT1 to 747L. Got the tax I paid last week refunded and now Angard just owe me 23 hours for my last week. Hopefully I`ll have no more problems and I`ll be paid up fully this friday.
Hope anyone else having problems has managed to get it sorted.

My boyfriend got his wage slip through the post and he was given a OT1 tax code but he was put on that because the jobcentre never sent his p45 so he couldn't give it to Angard. I was wondering did you send them your p45 or can he just phone up and ask to get his changed?
Thanks :)

I sent my p45 to Angard back early December they did not even bother to process it, and that is the same story with many others.

Is your Tax code right if not phone up the Tax office to get it corrected and if your owed any refund and your still owed money from Angard ( Pay, Hourly rate and holiday Pay)it should be them that give you the refund of Tax......If not owed anything I know its hard to make contact with Angard and ask for your P45 otherwise you will have to wait until the 5 April for you P60

Re: RMC guide to getting the correct tax code
55 minutes on hold only to be told that I cannot get a tax rebate from the tax office and that I must wait for my P45 from the previous employer to hand into the Job Centre. I might as well wait a year or two for this P45 whenever Angard are ready to send it, or say they sent it months ago yet I never received it. I sent my P45 to Angard way before I started my temporary work and the tax code being wrong meant nothing to me because I wasn't even sure it was until my mother saw it the other day.
