You don't no-one gets paid for D2Ds now.
Even after all these years people still don't understand....................
so if i don't get paid for delivering them, i don't need to do it. i remember when we used to get paid per one we delivered, which worked out fair as you were getting paid for the amount you delivered. Now you get a delivery supplement to do twice as many for less money and i have to do more on a part time contract for less money than someone on a full time contract doing less. If i'm wrong please explain how it works, as we never have never had a manager out to explain how it works now.

There is no longer a unit payment for delivering D2D.
The money that was being paid out for D2D, along with the Early Shift Allowance, was "captured" by the CWU and shared out among all those in the delivery function.
This is the Delivery Supplement. It is paid 52 weeks/year.
D2D is now classified as live mail and if you don't do them you risk being sacked for wilful delay.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

SO any correspondance from line managers regarding d2d's signing to say you are delivering them is basically ineffective if they don't exist/classed as live mail, i don't sign to say i'm delivering my letters/packets?

Just to add to clashes post - the delivery supplement is not paid for the amount or what you deliver, or even if you deliver anything. Its a supplement for all Delivery Function personnel based on Hours worked not items delivered.

To pre-empt your next question - No MCs don't get a Delivery Supplement - they get a Mail centre Supplement which is less than the Delivery Supplement.

The difference with D2D is it is a weekly product.
I presume you are signing something to say you have done the correct percentage for that day.
You do sign the security book which covers wilful delay - so effectively you do sign for letters/packets.

thank you, its just we work in a rural office and have never been told how it works, we are lucky to see a manager for anything other than a stage warning for an absence, we just get sent sheet after sheet to sign saying we are taking d2d's out, and we get sent the odd work time learning (or whatever it is ) out now and then. We asked for some gloves and elastic bands to be sent out/brought out to us but all we got is next time someone is passing the office we fall under, you can pick them up. As none of us live that way or travel that way it will be sometime never.

No we haven't been told/advised as to what percentage to do each day, etc. We are just signing the sheet's like we did before saying what d2d's we have and how many of each we have, the same as the old pay structure just with the pence per item bit missing. What security book that covers wilful delay? we haven't any sort of security book in our office, until 2 weeks ago i had never seen/filled in the sheet with start time, time left, first letter, last letter etc on and i;ve been employed for 4+ years so i presume that i;ve never signed anything to say i'm taking out letters/packets

No clash means the Security of Mail statement that ALL posties have to sign, once a year I think. That you understand its a crime to delay, damage, destroy or otherwise interrupt mail in your care.

i can honestly say that if i have signed that sheet, i have only signed it once on my induction, have never seen/signed anything like that again. We are in a rural spdo that you would think is in the middle of no where the amount of contact we get from managers (unless one of us is off, or their is a complaint) We find all our info from the lorry drivers or postman that live in the areas we deliver in. Like i said until 2 weeks ago i had never seen or signed a time sheet

you dont we have 1 chair between us all, no water facilities or anywhere to have a break, no undcover storage for mail/yorks, the only bonus is lack of managers/ visits from managers.

the same way someone on a 'part-time' contract is supposed to deliver the same/more than people on a 'full-time' contract, even though the walk length of the rounds are the same !!!
