Got a reply to my email!

Post by Britvic55 »

When I came in from work tonight, I checked my emails before coming on to RMchat. Anyway I had an email from JustSayIt.
Never heard of them, probably trying to sell me something, but hang on the subject matter looks familiar. So I decided to open it. Guess what, this company is owned by you know who! Anyway it was a reply to my email last week. Not from Moya personally of course! It was an apology about the pay problems & how they are doing their best to get it resolved!

At this stage I do not think an apology is enough.

Me also, but it is the same standard email others have received (so addressed to me, but not really personal!)......

Good afternoon *******

We are sorry that there have been some difficulties with the payroll system and we apologise that you have not been paid correctly.

Our temporary Christmas staff are very important to Royal Mail and we have put in a huge effort to ensuring that they are paid accurately. The majority of our Christmas temporary recruits will be paid correctly through a transfer into their bank accounts.

Where this is not possible we are making huge efforts to put in place an additional payment channel. This involves staff receiving a barcoded letter which can then be exchanged at any Post Office branch for the relevant amount of cash. I am very sorry if this payment method causes any additional inconvenience.

We are committed to doing everything we can to resolving any outstanding pay issues as soon as possible

Kind regards

Jane

"Just say it" is a carry over from when Allan Leighton was in charge - basically its an email portal direct to the office of the Chief Executive Officer (Moya Greene). In essence someone from her office has replied directly to a query by you.

Give her her due, not many CEOs would respond in this way, certainly not any of the Banker Bosses.

Sorry TBT but almost all organisations have these bellwether portals these days. They're a classic attempt to lure the workers into the mistaken belief that senior management gives a t*ss what the workers think. All you get is a bland reply (and sometimes a mug with a brainless slogan on) whilst any good ideas are stolen by management and not acknowledged as belonging to the person who came up with them and any criticism is noted on the employee's personnel record and brought out when the next round of redundancies happens.

From a recently redundant ex-employee of a large public sector organisation with a "Bright ideas/tell the Chief" scheme......
