Re: ITV London want to speak to you
And your story will run as ?
1. how it's Only the "minority" that have'nt been paid.
2. How RM and Angard are doing Nothing else but puting there time into fixing this problem.
3. this is how it should be run !!!!!!
It is not the minority of casuals or only 1 mail centre that are having problems,, this is a Mass problem affecting the mass majority of casuals in All mail centers/outhouses,, if the story is not told in this manner then i feel it pointless in contacting anyone.
To be honest,, there is one site that should be thanked which has kept us casuals Sane through all this, and allowing us to vent our anger and grievences and where other members were sympathetic to our need's. So thank you POSTMAN/staff/ and members for listening and reading,,, And Mostly,,,, CAREING.

Re: ITV London want to speak to you
The BBC News channel have already reported on the Chelmsford case. If you're only interested in chasing up what the BBC's already said about Chelmsford, speak to them. Alternatively, you might research this as a national issue (reading the threads here will confirm that this is a far larger scandal than the BBC's reporting indicates). Then I'm sure people will be more than happy to give you more information than you ever dreamt of.

She asked for info on the Chelmsford office. I've never been to the Chelmsford Office. All I know about them is that the BBC have already started to cover it. If she's interested in anything more than local Chelmsford affairs then she should say so.FrustratedwithAngard wrote:So ring the lady and tell her rather than sitting here whinging !

Re: ITV London want to speak to you
Rachel is obviously limited to working in London what with her being on the ITV London newsdesk. For those of us North of the Border in Scotland, the STV newsdesk is 0141 3003360
**I've just spoken with STV and they're taking it to the editor as - using their words 'it sounds very interesting'. I've directed them here too but anyone in Scotland who is affected by this, could you phone them as getting the numbers up will help to verify the situation with them and increases the chances of them running it.**

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: ITV London want to speak to you
I've read too many news stories about this issue, and they all follow the same template. The first paragraph is the truth, told by Angard workers about poor treatment and no payment, followed closely by the same statement from Royal Mail insisting that the issue affects a small minority only, and that it's being fixed as we speak etc. Lo and behold, a week later and nothing changes!

Re: ITV London want to speak to you
"Small minority"!!
A very sensible person at Angard I spoke to on the phone yesterday said they were donig 12 hours shifts over the weekend ( probably getting a voucher then
) and let slip there have been problems with 8,000 people wages. I presume she meant 8000 have either not been paid at all, have got 60% of their earlier weeks wage by bank transfer (often late), or got the "Voucher". This figure sounds about right reading this forum.
A large minority approaching a majority then.

Didn't see anything on the lunchtime bulletin so maybe it'll be on at 6.00pm? The BBC London piece this morning wasn't in their lunchtime bulletin.

If someone offers you a voice no matter how limited the audience it's a good idea to take the opportunity.
If you're sitting back waiting for a seat on Question Time you'll be disappointed.
Stories have to grow from somewhere.

Surprise surprise, that's exactly the same line that was followed on the piece that's just aired on London Tonight.guitar-mike wrote:I've read too many news stories about this issue, and they all follow the same template. In Angard speak small minority = 24% and a minority = 49% but they're even wrong by their own reckoning.

Re: ITV London want to speak to you
I suspect that that minority of 8000 actually increased further on Friday as most didnt know what they had been paid for until the Monday. Some casuals, the ones that got paid, that were getting the Christmas rates (£6.35) got the standard rate (£6.08) at the mail centre I worked at. A quick check with other casuals indicated that it had probably affected all of us. Most would not have known this until Monday afternoon - so I suspect Angard were not aware until telephone calls were made later. I could not telephone until Tuesday.
