Can you register grievances by email?

I've just registered a grievance with Angard by email, which I now realise they can pretend didn't arrive, like the emails I've already sent. Do you need to pay Royal Mail to send these by recorded delivery? Of course, this would mean paying Royal Mail for not paying me - which makes RM a nice little earner for thieves...

I do not recall reading anything about grievance procedures for Angard - you could check your Contract and the Staff Handbook you should have received (from what I understand not many have actually received copies).

Thanks for the link, Verging. There's nothing in the contract about grievances - it's in the Staff Handbook that I didn't get (though I think I may have signed that I had received one after 4 and a half hours waiting for the interview) and I can't find an online copy. As it's impossible getting through to Angard I can't exactly get them to send me one.

I haven't seen anything in the ACAS procedure that says that emails aren't an acceptable form of registering a grievance, though. I expect that Angard will simply not respond to my email.

Ta TBT, but that's the Induction Handbook and it doesn't refer to grievances. I think I need the Staff Handbook.

Raising a grievance is as simple as putting in a letter to your manager (it's their responsibility), make sure you do 2 copies and keep a record of when and to who you hand it to, they will try to fob you off but insist on them taking it because if things to tribunal then you will have a paper trail of all what you've done to try to resolve the issue without resorting to courts etc.

That is the only Handbook I am aware of.

Looks like they have not produced a Grievance procedure so you will be best follow the guidelines in my original link or the links that has to CAB/ACAS.
