not sure of pay

im 19 years old and have been working for 2 weeks now. i worked monday - sat on my first week and this week monday - friday, day off on sat, and work sunday. ive been told different stories of pay being 4.98 for someone my age and another saying its 6 pound something. i did not receieve my pay yesterday morning but was told in the afternoon at work it would be in my account my 5pm that night. i checked and i had received 172 pounds from angard, im not sure if this is right or not because the useless c***s haven't told me anything about pay/payrates. does anyone know the correct pay?

For your age the minimum wage is £4.98 per hour the £6.08 rate is only for those 21 and over. With Angard's working week running Sat-Fri your first "week" would have been 5 days. I've done some back of an envelope calculations and it looks very much like you have been paid the higher rate of 6.08. If I were you I would keep my mouth shut and let them pay you the higher rate

Pay rates for night work vary dependent upon where you are working you should be able to get to the pya rates for you on the RM website when looking "my application" and the job you received.

At our Mail Centre the Christmas casual rates, from the Royal Mail website, are:

Age 16 - 17
Mon - Sat 06.00 - 22.00 £3.68
Sunday 06.00 - 22.00 £5.78

Age 18 +
Mon - Sat 06.00 - 22.00 £6.35
Mon - Sat 22.00 - 06.00 £8.11
Sunday 06.00 - 22.00 £8.45
Sunday 22.00 - 06.00 £10.21

the pay rates are different it would appear at each different sorting office. If you go onto your royal mail account set up when you applied for the job and check your emails or summary it should detail the pay rates for each age and shift for your local centre. Hope this helps!
