Just to let you know, the mystery payment in my bank account yesterday, is NOW coming up as Angard CHAPS transfer.....
£29.61....... er hang on....... is that meant to be 60% of 1 weeks money? NO I don't pay supertax like rich people & even if I did, it should be a lot more than this! If this isn't a windup, then it's a bloody INSULT!
PS I am waiting for a reply to THAT email!

They are in the poop, CHAPS transfers can cost from £25 per transaction but they are more or less instant, Maybe RM pay less though.Britvic55 wrote:Just to let you know, the mystery payment in my bank account yesterday, is NOW coming up as Angard CHAPS transfer.....

Maybe if you have requested pay and they are paying by CHAPS you are being charged the CHAPS cost. Still does not sound right though. Not sure where CHAPS payment are charged - on the amount being sent or as a seperate charge to the sender.hantsman wrote:They are in the poop, CHAPS transfers can cost from £25 per transaction but they are more or less instant, Maybe RM pay less though.Britvic55 wrote:Just to let you know, the mystery payment in my bank account yesterday, is NOW coming up as Angard CHAPS transfer.....

Dont worry, the person sending it pays, put if it was £25 then on what they have paid you thats barking mad, but then what do we expect from Angard/RM or is that S--tard?Verging wrote:Maybe if you have requested pay and they are paying by CHAPS you are being charged the CHAPS cost. Re: I walked out - Update!
Have had a phone call from another colleague at the same MC & she has also had the same payment. I was on the late shift, so until my colleague goes into work, I can't give any more feedback. Will keep you posted.
NB I rang the MC this morning, nobody was answering the phones(surprise!), but eventually I found a number with an answer phone & left a message saying that as I had received a payment of £29.61 & as this was an insult, I would not be turning up for work. Many of you will probably think that was a waste of time & call, but I did it to keep managers informed & so that I wasn't just a "no show".

CHAPS ----Yes, they are a guaranteed way of transferring £ from 1 account to another, the same day. YES, they do cost! My bank charges £23. So Angard are prepared to waste £ on these, but not pay us. I am now even more worried!
No, I didn't request this method of payment.

I was paid the wrong rate after 22.00hrs the first week. The next week 37.5 hrs, before & after 22.00hrs. We are nearly on another pay day, so it will be another 37.5 hrs, before & after 22.00hrs.

Re: I walked out - Update!
CHAPS payments cost on personal bank accounts, but depending on how big Angard is they might get it at a significantly reduced price, or for free. I know someone who works in the finance department of one of the big energy companies, and they say that because of the amount of cash they put through the bank every day they get CHAPS transfers for free.Britvic55 wrote:CHAPS ----Yes, they are a guaranteed way of transferring £ from 1 account to another, the same day.
