They should do as Royal Mail do need to call in casuals on the weekend.

Prior to the Christmas work I was a RM casual and got "transferred" to Angard. They have called me in once on a Saturday but on other Saturdays I have tried calling them and never managed to get someone to answer the telephone (2 hours plus trying to contact them on various 01604 numbers - I have given up using the 0845 number)). My mail centre also tried contacting them to get people in - telephone and e-mails (no response after 2.5 hours) so they ended up calling casuals direct as they did prior to Angard.

So yes somebody should be there but your chance of them answering or actually being there is limited.

Unfortuantely, at the weekend Angard can do absolutely nothing about paying you unless they send a courier to you with cash. Banks do not do anything in terms of processing over the weekend - sorry.

Unless a team has been brought in to sort out payroll proper the usual "payroll" suspects will not normally work on a Saturday and I certainly wouldnt expect Julie to be working - as Director of Operations her position in this 'Operational Fiasco' is untenable and she should do the honourable thing and resign.

To try and placate you and stop you complaining/ranting/telephoning/whatever - she probably has some serious Operational Issues to sort out.
