Voucher payments - true or false?

Post by marmoset »

I just phoned my manager saying that I haven't been properly paid and can't get in to work. I don't own a car and the Greenwich Foot Tunnel is shut overnight so the only way for me to get in is by a 20-mile cycle ride. And as I spent all my rest time trying to get some sense out of the jobcentre, who referred me to ACAS who referred me to DWP pensions, (WTF?) I gave up and invested my part payment in a bottle of brandy because it's not enough to even cover my council rent, I don't think I'm in a fit state of mind for dealing with the other drunks in cars. He told me that there's a voucher for £350 there that I can collect and take to a post office to cash it - nobody made any effort to let me know that this was the case. And a fat lot of good a voucher on the other side of the Thames is going to do me at this time of night... I've been Angard Stiffed.

Is there anyone who has managed to collect their voucher and actually get paid? Or is it just one more lie?

Ta for the replies. Can one of you voucher-carrying citizens let me know whether they actually turn into money at the Christmas queues at the post office? It'll save me a 20 mile cycle ride and a wait in the Post Office queue - I'm not sure I will be responsible for my actions if, at the end of this, it doesn't work.

Asuming next week is the last week ,, you will have a weeks wage to collect,, obviously you have been overpaid,, and that sort of thing was discussed by the line mangers,,, YOU WONT HAVE ANY WAGES TO COLLECT NEXT WEEK.

*Sigh* Not being paid either, funny thing was I was the only person who did not receive any amount(to the best of my knowledge), others got 80,150 and 220. I wasnt really too surprised to find out I wasnt paid, not too concerned either but I'm the only person who hasnt received anything!!!

If I work next week I get about 30 quid in my last pay packet I wont get a pay packet next week if the whole thing kicks in. Would you work a full week and take just 30 quid?, Ive come out of this literally quids in. I can do all my xmas shopping now :nana :nana i

The vouchers do work, some people popped to the post office during our shift to collect theirs and had no issue what so ever. They are Royal Mail vouchers, not Angard.

Thanks, Emzay, reassuring. Mind you, Angard are Royal Mail so your 2nd sentence doesn't make much sense to me.
