Spoke to a very apologetic lady who is ringing me back within half an hour to give me an explanation and let me know when/how I will be paid.

I suspect Royal Mail managers will say ANYTHING to make sure the mail is clerared, then come the 23rd you're off site and they dont have to bother about your wages.

We've been getting told for 2 weeks now, it'll be in on monday, no it actually takes 48 hours, wait till friday see whats happening, it'll defo be in by monday, it takes 48 hours... wait till friday, been told "royal mail staff are now being sent to sort this"

If they can just keep this cycle going for one more week then the mail is out and they dont have to see our "moaning" faces again, and they get praise for getting the mail out, even if they did have to feed lines of shyte to do so.

that is why i refusing to go back untill i get what is owed to me, and i am considering IF i mean big IF they sort this out soon then i may get all my fellow workers to ask for all wages owed, due and advanced before we step a foot on site.

and o grate its snowing, another reminder its xmas that i dnt need right now

Again, not been paid a penny. Doubt anyone else in my Depot has either as they hadn't last week. This is actually disgusting and quite scarey, after 23rd how do we get our wages owed to us?

a lady has told me she would phone me within the hour this was about 20 past 10 she did say she will try to resolve this issue so i get paid today so fingers crossed although im not counting on it

After all my ranting & raving yesterday & email to Moya (no reply-not that I expected one), I have been paid £173.06 today! Still short. I don't know about anybody else though. I will return to work today, BUT they might tell me to ***s off! I will let you know! PS They didn't use CHAPS transfer this time!

Just checked my account and Nothing. I don't hold much hope of these clowns paying us, plus i don't buy the fairy stories that managers have been telling us.

Where i worked during the summer were a bunch of Morons but at least they paid me.

On my third week haven't received any penny neither a payslip I checked my account after midnight and at 10am today nothing and now have to pay the overdraft charges to Barclays. I had a voicemail last week asking me to give my bank details again. In Portsmouth sorting center they asked to stop this week but at the same they recruit New people some to start today and some next week on Thursday and Wednesday this I saw the lady from Angard with new. Candidates at the cantine for the documents checking session some of them get a call to start today or next week . That show clearly the intention of Angard we didn't get paid and now they stop us from working and recruit new people. In my initial contract they told I will get pay 7.80£/h and now I've heard from people that they pay 6.58£ till midnight from then 6.08£ that 4years now that I've been working as Christmas casual with royalmail never had this before. I think I will go to the employment tribunal

This for me is the key problem - I'm in the fortunate position that I don't have children to feed, or immediate bills / mortgage to pay - I just want the money I have worked for, and am disgusted by the inability of anyone at Royal Mail or Angard (in my experience) to actually tell you truthfully what the hell is going on. The longer it goes on without someone taking ownership of this problem and actually sorting it out, the more frightening it becomes. As somebody said a day or two ago (in a different thread), after Christmas, we will just be lot of individuals trying to get small sums of money out of a big company that has shown little interest in us so far...

Like every one else... no pay today

I did receive an incorrect payment on Wednesday - I was £30 short. I was promised payment today. you got it ... no money.

I managed to get through on the emergency payroll number - 0845 4607487 and was then fed a whole load more crap.

I was firstly told that I should be paid today, between 10.00 and midday, then the same woman told me I will possibly getting paid today by midnight! then she told me actually I might be paid after midnight tonight - hold on I said pay day is Friday not Saturday! Then they told me that the chaps payment will go through because they're automatic!! the strange thing is I don't believe them.

I then finally got through to a "manager" (who sounded like he was about 13) called Zak who suggested that I might be paid if my name is on the spread sheet. He also told me off for using the Emergency number as this is reserved for RM managers, and how can he cope with 8 thousand angry members of staff demanding answers... my answer " simple - pay us"

Zak also told me to contact my Line manager at the Mail Centre. I did, I told him to poke his job. He pleaded with me to stay, and has informed me that RM have disowned Angard, and have had their own internal payroll sorting the problem out. He assured me that payment will be made in full today... some of th lucky ones by BACS this morning, some by CHAPS by midday, some by CHAPS by 5pm and the remainder will be given a giro to cash at any post office.

I am more inclined to accept what this guy is telling us, however I still don't believe any off it. I will be urging my fellow casuals at my office, to walk out tonight.

I am starting to wonder if this is a badly scripted Panto... and we are the unlucky chorus line.

Of course the real pity here is, that I actually really enjoy working with the late turn guys at the Norwich Outhouse, shame I won't be back

So, shall we go the ball Cinders? oops - shall we continue to work for Angard then Casuals?
