Easiest Wednesday for a long time, finished 10 minutes early. Last Thursday was horrendous, I'm thinking tomorrow will be the same

Bizarrely quiet. Quieter than a normal Wednesday, never mind 10 days before Christmas. We're going to get murdered tomorrow.

Tuesday was another total mare of a day. Went in today on ot, just sorting, then ended up doing a few firms deliveries and just got back in time for end of duty. Place is chocca with parcels. Not much room to move with D2Ds, parcels and the everday influx of mail. Really surprised that more haven't gone sick, only about 3 so far.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Went in normal time (6am) and found half my walk up on overtime
So i took out the nicer half and got back about 11.30am just before the rain
.
Took a 40 min break and then helped out in the front counter till 13.45 and went home.
We seem on top of it with the packets going out on OT.

Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Our DO has got rid of any backlog of parcels by dishing out the o/t to whoever's is up for it. Had a few guys in on sunday and they managed to clear what was left by the afternoon. It has been quiet the last couple of days which is just as well as i am knackered and my lurgy is coming back.

Showed in at 6am and everyone rushing around. Went to my frame to find one of our young lads prepping it.
Turns out his on it for the rest of the week
Helped him prep and then was given the job of helping the old phg down in the equiry office. Given a pile of deads to mark off. Sat in there with him for the rest of the day drinking coffee and eating doughnuts whilst he told me stoties off working for the railways.
Took a hour break and left at 13.30

Swine of a day. Didn't get out until 9, delivered my last letter at 4.20. Drivers told us that most of the mail we had today had been sitting at the Mail Centre for 3 days!

Worst day this week by far, not far off worst day this Xmas. Won't be doing that much extended tomorrow, even if it means cutting off.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Well I got what I wished for, ANOTHER new walk !!!!!!
, the frame was heaving with mail, the packet bags were heaving, the driver had to go back to the bag box twice to put in more bags, after I used the first lot, it was that bad !, I didn't get out the DO until 12.15pm, got lost loads of times ! Finished 5.15 pm, 2hr 45min docket !!!!!, I guess the Xmas Sh*t hit the fan today
These managers really are thick, if they put people on new walks this time of year there is only one outcome MEGA DOCKET !!!!!! Its paying for my wifes xmas present anyway

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Broke off from my partner for the first time today, didn't want to as I feel as if we're in the walk together, but I had stuff to do at home. Feel kinda bad for the postie..
Got a phone call from one of the managers having a go saying I should have let them know I was leaving bags for my partner, maybe I should have but as I haven't done this before I genuinely didn't know.
He left the call with a bitchy comment about how I now know what to do, and I'll probably get moaned at about it tomorrow.
Really not enjoying this job at the moment, oh well I will soldier on!
