£100 Christmas Bonus

Couple of years ago I was on a 25hr contract, so the xmas bonus was about 38 quid after deductions :)

{Phoned in sick in December and the manager on the phone kind of trying to tempt me into work, telling me I could lose my bonus, have to repay it etc if I went sick, I told him I'd be off for the week :D. Thing is the bonus is so small now (that's a different matter, for the record I don't see why it should be any bigger, it's a bonus), yeah the bonus is so small it was hardly a massive decision for me.....do I struggle into work on the heaviest week of the year and possibly make meself incapacitated for the xmas holiday, FOR THIRTY EIGHT EFFIN QUID? Or do I take a week off to recover properly, and just get me sick pay.? Just found it hilarious that the manager was trying to use this 38quid as a massive bargaining tool....hahaha, massive tool.

I didn't go in, and I got my bonus anyway.

Wow! A whole £20 (BEFORE deductions) Christmas Bonus. Eight hour contract, but I do thirty hours per week.....and they call THAT a bonus?

I'm contracted for 28 hrs and got my wage slip today, £70 before tax, works out as £48 extra. Better than a kick in the teeth plus got my first tip today of a fiver

i got £64.10 on a 25hr contract , but ive been working 39 hrs a week everyweek since p&l came into our office ,( back end of oct) i thought if you worked full time hrs over the xmas period you were entitled to the full £100 , or am i just being hopefull

On an 8 hour temporary contract and got my £20 today.
I know it's not a fortune, but its the first time I've ever got a Christmas bonus in 40 years, so quite chuffed about it

I worked in the MC last year as a casual and I got £100 bonus. So yes they do, or at least I did.

Two years ago i slipped and broke a bone in my ankle. this happened at the end of november and i was off work for the best part of three months. I got paid £100 christmas bonus which i thought would be taken back after christmas. still not paid it back.

How ironic that PTers proporsionally work a lot more hours than their contracts, doing both prep and delivery overtime, yet the bonus is a measily £56 for 22.5 hour contracts. Just like sick pay and holiday pay, this is another instance where the payment should be in relation to the hours worked compared to a 39/40 hour, over a period such as the previous 12 weeks. Better terms and conditions for PT staff is a big area for the CWU to up its game.

Permanent and maybe Fixed Term contracts - I think. certainly don't remember getting it as a direct employed casual.
