Just finished the night shift, and our line manager told us that RM are now taking over from Angard with dealing with payments... ie people not been paid, people not getting the right amount etc...

RM are technically responsible for us being paid. They are the Hirer and have a legal obligation to ensure this. RM provide the information of the pay to Angard. Angard simply process it.

Our mail centre are not taking any responsibility at all - they have placed notices that any pay issues are an Angard problem so we have to telephone the 0845 ...... number - which even they have admitted they cannot get through to.

RM also have the legal responsibility to ensure our terms and conditions are within the law (e,g, we get paid and paid correctly; legal break times of a minimum of 20 minutes for a 6 hour shift - not 15 minutes as in the handbook, our health and safety - so PPE equipment (Safety Shoes, hi vis jackets etc)).

I get the impression that RMG managers at all levels are simply trying to keep the lid on until the worst of the rush is over - probably until Tuesday 20th would do! Then they can simply leave the Angard staff to sort it out themselves as once our contract is finished we become a collection of individuals each trying to get some money.

If RMG has payed Angard, then RMG have NO responsibility to Angard staff - our employment contract is with Angard, not RMG. Angard's actions are then in keeping with a company trying to juggle creditors when it has insufficient money to pay them all!
