Since started on 29th November, having to lift bags of pacels of Yorks, not the mini,s cut of the cable ties and tip into mini,s most days atleast 4hrs.
Mainly been me and another guy. everyone else just stands their and no managers about.

but for the past 2 weeks or so all we have been doing is either de-banding letters ( not done that for a while now) or just sort letters into the correct postcoded pigeon holes... such a dull and tedious job but oh well... i just listen to podcasts throughout on my ipod touch.. time flys by then .

Not everyone here got the H&S video. At our depot we were just told to shadow a person and help with a round. No induction, nor even ID checks. From day two, we were working solo going on different rounds.

The weirds thing about my centre is, i could phone the security line and give the following information and it would be 100% factually correct.
1. several people have no ID badges and get in to work each day.
2. Some of these people get let out, by the nightshift managers on a regular basis, of the building when it is not break time.
3. The nightshift managers know these people from previously.
Although its just folk going for a smoke i think. Previous folk who have worked before at christmas or perhaps with manpower in Edinburgh, and the nightshift are a lot more lenient than dayshift for allowing smokebreaks

A quick puff every hours not going to kill anyone (only you & I) when I started I was a bit scared of going off for a fag but realised that everyone was doing it. Chill out a bit its Christmas...anyway how can you afford to smoke?
