I walked out!
As I said in a previous post, if I am not paid by Wednesday 12.00, then I wont be working. I turned up at Truro MC & told managers why I was not working. I stated that if I was paid tomorrow, then I would return to work, if they wanted me to. No doubt I have been replaced by a Manpower casual! I have made a stand & I would like to say that one other casual did the same. Other people were having a moan, but continued to work & overtime as well! I wont bad mouth them because I will be called "Bellend". Their choice. I have emailed Moya for what it's worth. I will keep you posted. I have made a stand.

Was it the best decision? I got sent home and I turned tv, the news was saying unemployment is on the raise. I don't know about your personal situation but I would continue working and make sure I got paid.

It's only a job for Christmas, if they aren't paying then what's the point for a few weeks?Luther101 wrote:Was it the best decision? Although i think its bad people aren't getting paid, its the disconnected phoneline etc and not knowing who to contact. This to me is damm right disgraceful.

Re: I walked out!
I thought about this for several days. Do I cut off my nose to spite my face? Am I going soft in my old age? Sometimes a stand has got to be taken. I have probaly been replaced by a manpower casual since I left. A mystery payment has been made into my account for £29.61. I contacted my bank but they can't say now where the money has come from till tomorrow. We have been fobbed off with the tomorow statement, but still nothing happens. This is a large company, pay is due again this Friday. I have made a stand, you might not agree but it's done. No I'm not flush with money.

Re: I walked out!
I also walked out Britvic, largely because of the illegal and immoral work practices. I re-claimed JSA on Friday but won't need it as I got an old job back today which I start tomorrow (at more than twice what angard are paying most people). I wish you similar luck and to anyone else who has the b*lls to stand up to Angard's behaviour. I do appreciate that there are a lot of desperate people out there who can't afford to walk and I don't suppose that those of us who have done so will make them feel any better but those who can afford to do it should, IMO, however little disruption it causes, a bit like butterflies' wings and earthquakes so to speak.

Re: I walked out!
I plan to not go on Monday, if money isnt in my account by Monday 8am.
Should I not go and say nothing, not go and make a phone call at 9am? (start time is 9am) or go in as normal, and speak to one of the managers being very clear im not going to work until im paid?

Re: I walked out!
wamdue-it's your choice. I went in & spoke to managers to make the point (for what it's worth). Yes, it was a waste of petrol. I've got the courage of my convictions & will make a stand. No I'm not flush with money, but I felt that it had to be done. The choice is yours...... I don't want to be seen to influence people!

Re: I walked out!
maybe I should at least phone the managers, if im not paid it wont be the fault of them as individuals, and I guess I would rather have it known that was the reason, than anything else that maybe speculated on.
Its about 12 miles one way, so making the trip for nothing seems pointless.

I personally think it wouldn't be for nothing, the self satisfaction feeling is enough to see you through until you get paid. It is for me!
