CANTERBURY CHRISTMAS WORK AVAILABLE

Post by markadam1962 »

Sorry its late but just back from late shift and the following was posted by the signing in sheets, please if your interested and can provide all they ask for go along!

Christmas work available

Have you got friends and family looking to earn some extra money over Christmas? We have opportunities to work, particularly on the late shift (2.00pm to 10.00pm)

A registration day is taking place at Canterbury Mail Centre (Military Road, Canterbury) on Tuesday 13th December from 9.30am to 4.00pm.

Applicants will need to bring proof of right to work in the UK (e.g a passport, relevant visas), proof of current address (e.g a utility bill) and their national insurance number. It would also be helpful if they could bring two passport photo's.

This is all I can pass on and it is kosher. Book room at Canterbury phone number is 01227 822240

Thanks for posting it Mark.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Is that engagement direct with the Mail Centre or through Angard?

How will they be able to work before Christmas - Angard told us security checks take 2 weeks?

So RM have 110,000 applications for 18,000 positions. They get these, erm, 'appointed' and then a week later need to re-advertise and gain new staff from scratch. Even allowing for 50,000 sub par original applications that leaves a heck of a lot of people who applied. Evidently not many people applied in the Canterbury area compared to the rest of the UK. Yeah you can see how this situation would come about. It must be murder needing to advertise so urgently, almost as though there's been an almighty f**k up.

Mate I only posted what I saw on the signing in table, a leaflet was available to take away. I assume that there is a shortage that needs filling and "security checks" not being mentioned probably means you will start immediately as its the busiest week.

Please don't shoot the messenger!! If your interested turn up (with the correct docs) and ASK.

At the end of the day works available take it or leave it

Except that a lot of people are either, 1 not being paid, 2 not paid the right amount, 3 being sent home with neither,

Last year alot of temp staff were employed with no ID what so ever, which resulted in a great deal of theft.

Are you now informing that you no longer need ID?

Right I'm fed up with this.

I am beginning to wonder if the vast majority of people on here need to have their hand held at every turn. I don't know anymore than what I passed on in my OP

Look at it this way if you turn up and do the hours they will pay you when is still debatable but they will have to at some point. Don't do the hours and they definitely won't

Are you an RM manager?

The actual facts are that RM/Angard are not paying legally earned wages! RM even don't even pay their own directly employed staff correctly :shhhhh

Why - does it matter for the ORGINAL post.
