same here its not in our contracts, our contract hours our 5.00-13.18 thats it..if they want us to start later then they have to rewrite our contracts and we have to sign it.South East Postie wrote:we wont accept it at our office, they know too well what would happen if they forced it in ........
if our dom tries to force it in our office we will still come in at 5.00 thats what our rep told us to do.

I want to fight it as much as possible but without any advice from the union I don't know what I'm permitted to do.
Can I refuse? Will I be sacked? Can they change my start time with 1 weeks notice - I am payed weekly?
The union is being very quiet and I think it's losing a lot of support because of that alhtough I wouldn't put it past RM to have 'delayed' the unions letters.

The IR frameworks says appropriate notice must be given
Subject: Executive Action – Later Starts
Dear Mr ********
We met on June 20th at stage 3 of the industrial relations process to discuss later starts across the ** area.
At this meeting you assured us that you would inform us of your intentions via letter and that at least 28 days notice would be given to any changes.
This morning I have received a number of telephone calls from representatives across the PL area informing me that your managers are stating that executive action is to be taken and later starts enforced on Monday 17th September.
I am sure that you will understand that this short notice period leave many of our members unable to start at the times you request. You will also be aware that there has been no national agreement given to any later start times.
I ask that you treat this letter with the utmost urgency and get back to me ASAP so that I can communicate with my members and seek advice from CWU HQ.
Regards
**** ****
