Well, Emily Nash, what an insightful, heartfelt article that was. Getting the public right onto the side of the agency workers there by using the good old fear headlines. So now, as per usual, postal workers will be branded as ungrateful etc because people won't bother to read the rest of the story. And the usual RM BS at the end

At least the Guardian bothered to run a full proper story.

I wouldn't say posh man's... I'd say it's for those that are more interested in the full story than News International's views on what you should think about something.

Shame on you, The Scum ..what a poor excuse of a report.

..The ongoing pay issue has now been reported on 'Recruiter'.

http://www.recruiter.co.uk/royal-mail-c ... um=twitter" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Royal Mail Christmas temporary staff complain of lack of pay

Temporary Christmas staff taken on by Angard Staffing, the Royal Mail’s staffing arm outsourced to Reed Specialist Recruitment, have complained of not receiving their pay, with some reportedly staging walkouts at offices including Bristol, Chelmsford and South London.

Other offices where the workforce has been affected include Ipswich and Norwich. Sources speaking to Recruiter said they did not know exactly how widespread the problem was.

Comments made on recruiter.co.uk and telephone calls to Recruiter magazine have highlighted issues, with the calculation of pay and cited payroll processing problems which reportedly occurred last Tuesday.

Some complainants said they had been promised all or partial payment today.

However, John Fawcett, a temporary worker at the Ipswich operation, told recruiter.co.uk that he had also been told that there was no guarantee that the problem would be fully rectified this week.

Fawcett went on to praise Royal Mail managers for being “exceptionally helpful – but they have no authority over the Angard-Reed partnership”.

At press deadlines the Royal Mail and Reed had not yet responded to inquiries from Recruiter.

Responding to two separate stories on recruiter.co.uk about the administration and candidate treatment in the process of recruiting Christmas staff, jobseekers and Angard temporary employees have registered nearly 200 comments.

Listen girl! Since Angard took so long getting back to me I have secured a full time permanent job that pays more figures then you could understand. When one door closes another opens!

I'm not going to stop seeking justice just because I now have a full time job. We all have to help each other. First it's royal mail but what could be next?

Absolutely.
That's why I posted ""Royal Mail workers threatened to walk out." - and we'll all get tarred with th same brush and receive less tips" on here early this morning.
I was once told that a third of Sun 'readers' only read the headlines, another third also read the first sentance, and the rest just look at the pictures.

It'll just be the usual detritus about how they/you (I can't say we anymore :chuckle ) should all be grateful to have jobs etc. and how dare you all ruin Christmas by threatening to walk out. But they really don't have a frickin clue what goes on and why should you continue to work if you're not being paid? Would they do the same?! I sincerely doubt it. At least there's a couple of thousand more people who have (unfortunately?) gained some insight into what it's like to work for RM.
