I just had a call from Emily at Angard who said that they didn't have my bank details. I was unwilling to give out my bank details to a caller I don't know on a ID withheld number so got her to call me back on a non-ID withheld line. 01604 631523

She was not able to answer why Angard had ''lost'' my bank details, nor why Angard was not prepared to make any payment before next Friday for money it owes me (and so many others). She said that she would get her supervisor, Annette, to call me to explain what reasons Angard have for withholding (illegally, in my opinion) my money.

Just spoke to somoene on the 01604 818 813 number

The guy I spoke to seemed pretty helpful, said it was the general business line.
He confirmed my bank details/pay roll number with me, and said he'd send a form to the payroll team which should be responded to promptly.

Worth phoning this number.

well

I'm now in a position where I can't afford to put fuel in my car to get me the 35 miles to work.

Suppose this means that they (Angard) will mark me down as absent, and I'll loose a days pay... not exactly fair, if they paid as promised several times, would be in a better position to get in.

RM managers are trying to bride me too - well if I manage to get in even late they'll pay the whole shift... wonder what part of no money no fuel they don't understand.

I did the same, but judging by the empty promises already made, I doubt that will happen.

I'm now thinking of telling Angard to shove it, and not bother anymore, whats the point of all the hassle.

If I am not mistaken, the majority of people who have applied and now working for the temp christmas jobs, are most likely people who are wanting extra cash, and currently do not have regular jobs to fall back on, and most likely, not the most well off people around. This, as in my case, causes so many problems, as currently it is costing me to work there. Bus fares each day (as no parking allowed in the area) need to be paid, which over a 5 day period is costing me £20 per week, two weeks working there has cost me £40 now in bus fares, and £10 in petrol, with £10 in parking (2 x 12 hour shifts) as I agreed to work at a further location as extra hours, so I am down by £60 so far, and still not a penny from Angard/Royal mail in my bank. I cannot afford to pay this money out without anything back. I cannot afford to not turn up, as fear for not getting anything, but am running out of cash to fund my travels. I have also spent quite a few quid on child minding on the overlap of school hours to ensure I get to the site in plenty of time.

I do think that people need to get together on this if anything is going to turn around. An extra 18'000 staff on store floors, but clearly not a good enough ratio of staff taken on for their payroll department. Everyone in my area have been told different excuses, and even the site manager has guaranteed us that we will all be paid and is on touch with Angard.... Sorry, but these are also just words.

The Royal Mail should be ashamed of themselves to allow this to happen. We are all, at the end of the day, undergoing work for Royal Mail, and just because they cover their backs with lower paid temping staff through an agent contract, they should still front responsibility for their actions of the workers present on THEIR sites and doing THEIR work that they are profiting from. We are already paid approx £2 an hour lower than that of Royal Mail contracts, which is disgraceful.

WE ARE NOT BEING PAID.... We HAVE to simply not work on one day, VERY SOON, as this will be the only way that Royal Mail will need to step in and change things quickly. How will you all feel if you have not received any pay prior to Christmas, and still fighting after your temp contract has ended...?? Because that is the worst case scenario and by the sounds of it, it is also very likely. SO someone nominate a day of NO work, and we must all stick together on this to turn this around.

Been trying 01604 818 813 Phone number since 9am and still can't get through! The people who have been lucky enough to get through did they say it's all going to be sorted by this Friday or does every employee have to phone them up to get it sorted!!! This is ridiculous I have had no income now for 2 weeks this will be my 3rd week!!

Hey,

Contact the West Sussex Reed office on 01903 229191. They instantly pick up calls, and ask for either Ashley and a Heather who are handling the Angard contract. I talked to one of them, and they were very nice to talk to and very helpful, and knew what they were doing. :)

I work in the temporary sorting office at Portbury (Bristol). I am one of the few who are prepared to walk out if they are not getting paid. Angard have messed up pretty much everything from start to finish. To start off with they did not even have the proper address - the postcode referred to an address in the next town and the actual address was completly made up. Despite several phonecalls I was told this was the correct address, I had to drive around Portbury to find it for myself which took a while. Now after two weeks of work with a guarantee of being paid on Friday by midnight (9/12/11) I still have not been paid and several phonecalls and email have been ignored. They are clearly in breah of contract by not paying when they said they would and not providing a pay-slip.

I've been self employed for 13 years but have had little work this year due to the poor economy, I thought this would be a straight forward job to do for some extra cash for christmas. How wrong i was, i've invoiced hundreds if not thousand of people over the years and have never had such a problem being paid or with total lack of communication as i have with Angard. All in all, a total shower of s**t.
