MILLIONS of Christmas items could be delayed after temporary Royal Mail workers threatened to walk out.
Furious staff vowed to stop work at mail centres across the country on Friday after discovering they had not been paid.
Dozens more vented their anger on the internet, branding recruitment company Angard Staffing Solutions a "shambles".
The agency, owned by Royal Mail, was tasked with hiring 18,000 casual workers over the busy festive period for the first time this year.
One said: "We should have been paid on Friday and given our payslips on Thursday but we got nothing. People are relying on this cash for Christmas."
Royal Mail insisted the "vast majority" have been paid, but admitted: "Some have unfortunately not been. Plans are in place to pay them within the next few days."

Mail pay row may hit cards and gifts:Angard

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Had the opportunity to speak with some of the casuals this year the first week into pressure they failed to get paid properly.
Angard appeared to have promised one set of pay per hour but in actual fact are paying much less. To top it off many are on emergency tax codes, even those whom already have part time jobs elsewhere.
A few people have mentioned that Royal Mail may perhaps own at least a percentage of Angard so that would explain the absolute shambles.
