Waiting on Security Checks - Newbie

Post by kathy35 »

Hi there,

I was called on the 5th December to ask if I still wanted the job and I said yes and now its pending checks which they said could take up to 14 days? Does this take this long or longer normally does anyone know? Also someone told me that you get checked by Scotland Yard is this correct too?

Just wondering about times when I am going to start I just hoped that I would not be starting on christmas eve as I am just contracted to be a Saturday Post woman.

Any thoughts anyone ?

Thanks :)

Hi there,
Me and my husband both went for interview at the same time for christmas night working, said could start 5th dec.my husband passed all checks, he has now started work but I was showing as still processing security checks.I have now passed all checks but think missed a call at home as had to go out, someone left msg saying would call back but they haven't, waiting in all last week
next to phone , tried and tried to contact by e mail and telephone but no way can you get in touch to speak to anyone. very very frustrating. still at home hoping someone will contact me. I know he says they are short of workers as people not turned up
or carried on working.

Hiya, We are in the same boat. My interview was successful. I received an email over two weeks after the interview saying that they are now processing checks although on the RM website it says "processing offer." I don't know how long this takes, I am just happy to know I got in!! Apparently someone will phone to clarify the checks they are making and discuss next steps. In the meantime, I have a handful of pdf's to read - mainly policies and procedures etc.

Good luck with everything, do keep me updated

Hi there,
Well I think I've just given up hope with it all. No telephone call no e mails nothing also still cant get in touch
with angard. This next week would have been the last week anyway so I have now resigned myself to think
no way will I be working.
Yes, the post was offered to me but I think angard are just overwhelmed with all the work. Think must only
be 1 or 2 people manning the phones there.
Keep in touch!!i
