Turns out my action against Angard Facebook page didn't go unnoticed as Emily here contacted me on it asking for us to send her our stories ready to be sent to print tomorrow. I have asked for an email address but that's her Facebook link up there! Let's keep up the good work guys!

Ps all the post I am sending out at the moment has a big note on telling Angard staff about this forum so more people should find out about the planned strikes

I'm inclined to agree, there's nothing about that profile that looks legitimate for anything to do with The Sun and I don't think they'd be contacting you on a personal level...

Whilst the Angard thing is a major fiasco and I'm fuming regarding not being paid this week, not being originally told the right job title or shift and my Manager at RM never bothered to check if I had ID, which caused us both to raise eyebrows at each other on Friday (Since I never got one), I doubt this comes across as big news... :/ I'm starting to learn that employers can get away with far too much.

The name fits thats all... There's just no hint of professionalism or anything that kinda screams legit with the FB profile... Could be wrong, but be careful about getting your hopes up too much is all.

I do not think any paper would risk going to print with this story for tomorrow at such short notice.

Dependent upon which aspect they are going to cover they would have to have everything checked by solictors/lawyers before they could risk publishing.

Think they must have heard on the grapevine that the Guardian have the story and possibly trying to follow. Whatever they publish will be very limited due to legal consideration they will have to take. Now if they had researched last week - they could have done what was needed.

i contacted them last week and gave them my collation of peoples stories so all is very possible

Although The Sun may give you maximum exposure i'm not sure how sympathetic a hearing you will get from a newspaper whose politics are at best centre-right over a story that is based on employers abusing agency staff.
I think your story would be better handled by The Guardian or The Independent if they are interested.
The Star and The Mirror are also likely to be more sympathetic but you could argue that you are preaching to the converted with those two.

I thought that was a joke? :/ If Casuals go on strike, they'll either get replaced or add pressure to the present workers. In Ely there's only 4 Angard temps, mostly RM staff and a few Manpower employees. You might as well just walk out really :(

If those who are actually working for angard want to strike then they could definitely make it happen. If enough people at enough depo didnt give any warning and just refused to work (sit down strike) while on shift what exactly could RM do. They cant be physically moved? And with the few media contacts i have gathered i could give the papers a heads up about the strikes so they would get media coverage......
